It looks like CC was hoping for a swift and easy Russian victory and underestimated the impact that the sanctions would have on the Russian economy. That last post shows he still has a sliver of hope but his confidence is fading.
His assumption was that the Western governments would ins ute some mild-ass sanctions and lack the courage of conviction to do much more. He counted on sactions, just not the scope and scale of what happened.
The source of this is simply confirmation bias: Left leaning governments and democracies are namby-pamby wishy washy, a typical right wing fantasy.
One thing I learned from my years of training Jiu Jitsu is to never underestimate your opponents will and motivation in a fight.
But like I always have to reminds ya's:::this is as good as it's gonna get, and it will never get this good again.
