No wonder KD wants out. Miserable trade.

Yes, with KD gone and Kyrie not far behind, the Jazz just got a lottery pick. Hope that pick is heavily protected for the Net's sake.

Why would you trade a 1st rounder the same day that KD asks out? Makes no sense tbh.

If Dejounte just fetched the Spurs 3 picks, two of which are unprotected and a trade swap, maybe 6 picks? One of the preferred destinations is Phoenix. This is crazy!

KD is going to Phoenix. It makes way too much sense.

S&T Ayton + whatever draft compensation. it's only a matter of time

I bet he wishes he could go back in time and undo the Harden trade. The team's future was bright before that trade. It's been downhill ever since.

Live by the Superstar...Die by the Superstar.
Irving and Durant are toxic personalities in very different ways. Harden was the even-keeled one. That says enough.

He’s trying to force his way to Phoenix. And they’ll pay up with Ayton + whatever for him as it likely makes them favorites in the West and maybe overall.

I can't imagine the low key poisonous environment in Phoenix.

Meanwhile Brooklyn tumbles out of PO contention, although they were already liminal anyway. Houston's picks they got get much more valuable. Atlanta has much more room to make the picks we just got worth less in the next several years.

this makes sense for many reasons and one peripheral one would be that he takes things so personally, he would love nothing better than to get the suns to the finals and knock draymond green out.

Also the Heat - Tyler Herro, picks? Would the heat entertain trading Jimmy for Durant?

Worth less to whom? This opens up a playoff spot and/or puts them higher in seeding. Thus later in draft and conveying to spurs.

Yeah, those sweet, sweet unprotected picks won't matter if they're unprotected because they'll be in the late teens or twenties anyway.

Ayton would have to agree to it though. So their entire hope kinda depends on if he even wants to go to Brooklyn

Not really. They traded the worst of Brooklyn, Philly and Houston for O’Neal. They owned Philly’s pick (Harden) and had given up a pick swap to Houston for Harden.

All they’re left with is whichever of those three picks falls in the middle. So SOME incentive to tank because Houston will stink too, and that swap probably won’t convey.

Houston owns the nets picks and swaps for next 5 years. Thems picks/swaps gonna be good.
