How much did they pay Gallo to walk?
Let's be honest if the things Tony Parker was involved in happened today he would have been canceled.
How much did they pay Gallo to walk?
I think context matters. Easier to cancel a player who hasn’t done anything versus an integral part of a dynasty.
I kinda noticed something at the Summer League in Vegas. Primo seemed a bit distant.
I go to Vegas every summer and the summer before Primo's calm looked like great confidence for someone so young.
But this summer I had to observe:

This summer he looked more aloof, almost preoccupied.
Of course, this is probably just 20-20 hindsight.
Yes. Kinda why Draymond got a hand slap
I wonder what he did to up rest of his life
Gallo money was used to make the trade deal work.
Assuming he doesn't have a longstanding criminal issue that could send him to jail or put him on a sexual predator list, we should all be so lucky. Dudes a multimillionaire that won't have to work the rest of his life if he invests properly. He's 19.
It was. But they are still paying him. Like they paid Gasol, Luka, Carroll extra. Not to play
Fans have a right to know something
They can say he did something and spurs can no longer employee him.
If they do not say much more thru risk fans stop supporting them.
I know many fans are just putting up with pop being politically because spurs are important to them. Could be the last straw though
Spurs been had at least one charity case on the roster since 2018
If he had done something really bad we would know by now. Yet no news. At the same time nothing from the players union. Spurs are giving him his money. It’s lame, but I don’t think they are getting out in front of something. I think it was too much for him to handle and he quit. Perhaps he beat his girl or exposed himself. Maybe both or none. Maybe he did something else. And maybe any of those things were him quitting. 12 mil is a lot to walk off on happy or not.
I would hold my horses, Spurs did not pay him all that money, and I doubt they will if would be charged with something serious. Aaron Hernandez wasn't paid, was he ?
You're still around.
Not necessarily.
It's kind of hard to find out anything when our local media just laps up and accepts whatever the Spurs FO is feeding them.
It would be nice if we had at least 1 single news outlet here with balls enough to put pressure on the FO demanding some answers for clarity.
It's bad business to put out a product like selling tickets and jerseys promoting Primo on it and then not feeling like they need to explain anything to the customers on why they made a decision to terminate him from said product.
I'm sure nobody is asking for every personal detail but some clarity would be nice. And they wonder why people speculate, well when you don't give people much to go on what do you expect?
True. But I read his statement as a relief. Not getting a head of something he’s done that’s really bad.
The fact that I can go on the Spurs website and purchase a Jordan Hall jersey and not a Josh Primo jersey or go on the official NBA store website and purchase a Cacok jersey and not a Primo jersey is telling. Spurs want no association with him.
When you bet on somebody and they quit, it stings. I’m hoping that’s all the gear issue is. At the end of the day I’m happy with Keldon and Vassells development. I’m high on Wesley. Sucks to get nothing for primo. But he wasn’t a pg and I’m currently fine with what they have at 2/3.
Primo started as a reach and now he's untouchable.
What pressure can they apply?
I'm not sure they wonder why people speculate. They just don't care if they do. It seems likely this is a legal issue and the less people in the know say at this time, the better. It's bad business to put out a product like selling tickets and jerseys promoting Primo on it and then not feeling like they need to explain anything to the customers on why they made a decision to terminate him from said product.

One (perhaps overoptimistic possibility): Primo suffered a mental health crisis as a result of previous trauma (PTSD), asked to be released so he could focus fully on his mental health, and the team granted his request to maintain goodwill. Then, after two years when his contract ends, he will have received mental health treatment, taken strides to overcome his challenges, and then signs a new, multiyear contract with the team and picks up right where he left off.
Yeah, it's weird. You can buy a Wieskamp Spurs jersey on NBA.com but not only is there nothing for Primo, it doesn't even autofill his name. That means the NBA Store went in and deleted his entire existence.
https://store.nba.com/
You can find Luka Samanic Spurs apparel. Ca jersey. Dejounte Murray Spurs jersey. Not even a Primo landing page or autofill.

This is something that could be communicated and would show support from the Spurs. It's clearly a burn all bridges situation and it's coming from the FO.
Wait, woah. So the NBA as a whole is also distancing themselves from this? That's way worse than just the team waiving him and must have been communicated up the chain to Silver and the player's union.
And then it makes you wonder what on Earth he could have done do be 100% excommunicated from his employer as though he never existed.
