Unless the ex Spurs employee has a video, Primo basically admitting to guilt with that press release is some room temperature IQ stuff, tbh.

bet the spurs are privately thrilled to have an objective justification to jettison the biggest efficiency drain in the entire franchise

well my hands are tied, guess I gotta cut the leading statistical deadweight by every metric

bet the other players feel like new men last night.

What an absolute joke of an organization. With Primo, the FO's obsession with "high character" guys revealed itself to be the farce that it is. You have an absolute waste of a pick ostensibly justified by the vetting performed during the combine - vetting that supposedly showed Primo to be a "mature" cultural fit - all of which turned out to be egregiously wrong. Actually, it that decision and that pick weren't just wrong - it's actually an existential threat to the organization. Litigation over allegations of sexual assault, in this social climate and in this league, is nothing short of disastrous. It kills the brand that supposedly prioritizes character, maturity, etc... You can't make those claims when Buzbee is arguing to a jury that SS&E chooses 19 year olds with "trauma" who flash their s to multiple women.

Choosing players based on their character - not talent - is misguided. The whole purpose of picking "high character guys" is to ensure cohesion and stability - it's to ensure that this exact scenario never happens. But it did. Primo laid bare that this organization can't accurately vet and find the real "high character guys." From an ownership perspective, your diversity hire GM, senile coach, and absentee/drunk CEO have hurt your brand, cost your compe iveness, and opened you up to litigation. That is the definition of failed leadership.

Sucks for the front office because one thing about a reach is you better be right because if anything goes wrong everyone will just say see this is why you just take the BPA, if you hadn't reached on Primo you wouldn't be in this mess right now. Getting clever sticks your neck out.

Also Blake Wesley, after probably being surprised at the call up and gettin thrown in the lions den with zero prep was 4 AST / 1 TO

Already took care of the ball better than Primo

    Primo's most recent box score, 10/24 was 2 / 4

I'd guess there is a small chance the employee stuff was known and the Spurs org was working to resolve it one way or another (not enough evidence for a criminal case, etc.), then the hotel incident ended everything.

Really weird seeing posters trying to say it's no biggie.

Too bad. If they couldn't have known - or if they couldn't have discovered that - then don't make the pick. If you're not 100% sure what you're getting when you make an absurd selection like that at #12, then you gotta live with the consequences.

Yeah, I don't think Tony or Manu survive a such a lawsuit brought on by an ex female employee. Duncan or Robinson probably go the Watson route. But Primo? Yeah, no, no, he had to be released.

The "Spurs should have maximized his value and traded him away" take is pretty dumb, tbh. Primo was regarded as a likely second round pick. He showed flashes but if a panicked Spurs organization puts him on the trade market, the very most they would have gotten is a second round pick in return ... and that's best case scenario. Other teams would have known something was seriously wrong.

Waiving Primo didn't sacrifice value. He didn't have any value.

Why do you constantly say the dumbest ing .

Show us where you can predict this. I want you to do the research and actually prove the idiotic that comes out of your mouth.

Be right. I want you to give the exact information and examples that would have red flagged this kid as a flasher.

Do it… and show us all just how a dumb worthless piece of such as yourself can see plain as day this was foreseeable.

God damn you’re ing annoying. If there was ever a person I’d celebrate the death of it’s you. Just something god awful. Like you were walking down the street and you went to pick up something dropped by a nice local kid. And. BAM. You get smashed by a drunk driver.

I’d absolutely buy that guy another drink.

    ing hate your existence here.

He could be prosecuted and deported which would end his short career. I didn’t think he’d be an All-Star, but I thought he’d have a long NBA career. Hope he learns from this and does something positive with his life.
