Copium Lake not taking the L well…
What’s funny is that the only thing for Lake to really appeal is whether the judge got facts wrong, which is a lot harder than an appeal arguing the judge got an issue of law wrong.
Anyone confident in Lake’s appeal has no understanding of how our courts work.
Copium Lake not taking the L well…
She could appeal the earlier dismissals of the other counts as well. Or the narrowing of the surviving ones. Doubt there’s much likelihood of success anyway
i could have saved her some money. Objectively better counsel than she’s gotten
thinking Chewbacca was a competent attorney in this case
That doesn't seem to prevent KL's counsel from giving color to frivolous actions instead of telling her they're not interested.
Ka ching.
The real losers in all this are her gullible donors. They donate money. Her campaign uses some of it for legal fees. The rest as luxury expenditures. Paying for her trips to mar a lago, etc
Could be wrong but appealing the motion to dismiss order might be time barred at this point; the statute has pretty stringent deadlines about when appeals need to be filed iirc.
All fake news. Your tears are delicious tho![]()
Dno Arizona specifics re their election challenge statutes but interlocutory appeals like that are generally disfavored, ie you gotta wait till entire case is disposed before appealing a particular ruling
Qrissy still believing claims made at rallies (like Hobbs is going to testify) and twitter randos when time and time again this fizzles out in court heard by Republican judges
det maricopium
I genuinely wonder what day to day life is like for the people stupid enough to believe this .
It’s either legitimate mental illness or substance abuse imho
Crippling depression and self pity.
I think a lot of them don't believe it, they just don't care that their candidates are trying to seize power on a lie.
Lake would have won if she campaigned on kitchen table issues, held rallies encouraging GOP early voting and mail-in drop box voting especially for senior citizens outside churches and nursing homes, learning how to ballot harvest etc. and not spent the whole campaign talking about muh election fraud and how 2020 was stolen and how 2022 would probably be stolen too.
The whole GOP "only vote on Election Day itself in person only or else your vote won't count" argument is stupid and it's why we lost the midterms in almost every battleground state except Florida. Getting absolutely pulverized in early votes is a one way ticket to a big fat loss and it completely wrecks your advantage with the older and working class population who might not be able to vote on election day. College kids and hipsters will always vote (D) and mostly early, but we've got the chance to match them and we squander it by baselessly alleging that early and mail in GOP votes don't count.
The Lake cultists believe all of it
I would like to see some official numbers on that. I always vote early so i can cross it off my to-do list and I would think a lot of Republicans are like minded and don't give a sh1t what the elites are telling us to do.
In Arizona it’s had a real impact. The McCain Machine created a vote by mail operation for old people rivaled only by the vote by mail operation Jeb Bush built in Florida 20 years ago. The difference is that the Arizona GOP is re ed and started telling old people mail can’t be trusted while the Florida GOP still tells its old people to vote early.
The thing is that if you selected 100 extremely high propensity voters at random and told them all to wait until election day to vote, odds are at least 1 of them will have something unexpected come up on election day. Maybe there's an emergency at work, maybe their kid gets the flu and needs to go to the doctor, maybe they discover they have a flat tire 1 hour before polls close, etc...
Not to mention how much easier it is for canvassing organizations/grassroots groups to digest voter data files and target lower propensity voters when your voter data file is half as big because all of your high propensity votes have already been banked.
Heck, the 1 time I decided to wait until EDay to vote (2016) there was an unexpectedly huge line at my precinct when polls opened and I almost left before voting because I had to get to work for a meeting.
Oh, no doubt about it. Not to mention that many senior voters tend to vote (R) and could drop dead or have health issues while waiting in a two hour line on election day. This whole concept is re ed and we can blame Trump for it as he sensed a loss in 2020 and started casting doubt on early voting like 6 months before the election. I understood the concern about unsolicited mail in ballots, but this dude took it a step further and claimed early voting was not safe either.
I just wonder what percentage of people in swing states actually buy in to all that BS and tough it out on election day.
The thing is that if we’re talking about a state like AZ or WI, it’s still a really ing big deal if only 5-10% of the base buys into Trump’s about early voting not being safe, and the polling indicates it’s a much larger number than that.
...
I think that number is closer to 10 out of 100 or 15 out of 100, hence the results.
The biggest complaint this cycle in Arizona on EDay by far was the long lines, not voting machine errors or anything like that. Just poor operations in general by the Lake team and Team MAGA in general. The mail in vote use to lean red in AZ and now it's safe blue. Somebody's got to be held accountable for that and change it asap.
Absolutely 100% it is. Georgia and Nevada too. Was talking with my (moderate) uncle on Christmas Day and we both agreed the GOP absolutely has the numbers for a consistent electoral college victory and a consistent 56-44 senate majority if they improved their messaging especially on that issue and were much more moderate on abortion.
