It’s not that simple though. McCarthy’s fundraising ability is why he’s in leadership, and the people voting for him don’t want to risk losing his fundraising for their campaigns if he still ends up with the gavel.

This gamesmanship is common in the electoral and legislative process between the parties but them doing it to themselves just points to the stupidity of only have two parties.

the last people that are going to tire out are the 20 anti-mccarthy republicans. those people literally have nothing better to do with their time.

its probably some among the 200 other republicans who will grow weary of this. dems have every reason to wait it out because theres the potential they can extract concessions out of this in exchange for enough abstentions

That’s definitely the strategy imo but it’s dumb. Trying to play chicken with the 20 house reps who don’t care if the economy craters is a losing proposition.
