I have the feeling Draymond will try to hurt AD

Warriors are a great basketball team, can't deny that - but they are a bunch of insufferable gots

I thought I hated the Phil Jackson era Lakers but I hate the Warriors much much more
At least I can respect the Lakers because those battles made each others better
Draymond will definitely attempt it if the Warriors are in danger of losing to the Lakers. I have a feeling though if he succeeds the league will crack down hard on him this time with a large suspension. Only reason I believe this will be the last straw for Draymond because the Lakers are even a bigger cash cow in the eyes of the media so there is no way they will let Draymond's dirty play slide.

Giannis seems like a different dude. Not to say he wouldn't have wandering eyes. But feels like he's a guy who will stay loyal as long as he feels the organization is making good faith efforts to keep them compe ive. He could still leave, but I think it would take a lot and the right scenario to persuade him to go. For instance, maybe in his early-mid 30s, an opportunity to go to Toronto comes up if Ujiri is still there.

Golden State has become pretty unlikable, even more so than LeBron and the Lakers, at least for me. As long as Anthony Davis neutralizes Looney on the glass and Vanderbilt does a decent job on Steph with not too much help, then I think the Lakers actually have a pretty good shot. Even with Steph going nuclear, if the Kings did a better job on the defensive glass, I think they win game 7.
I believe you should have Vanderbilt guard Wiggins because he can definitely lock him down. Have Lebron guard Draymond and AD guard Looney. Force Curry and Klay to go nuclear every game while you have the rest of the team locked up defensively. Lakers have to control the boards, but they should be able to do it with their personnel.

Too bad Tim never got a shot at them. He won at least one playoff series against every team he ever faced in the playoffs: all West teams other than the Rockets and Spurs, and all East teams other than the Finals opponents.

How did Tim win a playoff series against an East team?

    nm, that comma is misplaced.

Pleased to see the 76ers pull this one out. Nothing against the Celtics, I just don't want them or anyone to get a Warriors esque cakewalk to the Finals.

Is it just me, or does Tatum have the ugliest shot in the league? It's so mechanical, it's absurd.

I won’t go that far but I’m reconsidering my he is great, but not 3 straight MVP great …which is wild to even type but with
Laimbeer type athleticism Dude has elements on offense of Bird Duncan Luka Bron Kevin love in his game. He is the most unique superstar.
His passing is almost to unselfish but he make’s his teammates better than they should be.
His mvp way more legit than Rose Nash Westbrook or even the year Kobe got one partially based on never having won.

You shouldn't argue whether Jokic is deserving of being a three time consecutive MVP. You should only consider whether he deserves it this season or not. You shouldn't not give it to him because you don't want him to win three straight. It's just bad logic. He either deserves it for this season or doesn't deserve it for this season, this season only.

This season, he was clearly the MVP favorite until the last month to month and a half when his production fell off a little and Denver lost some games after they had a comfortable lead for the first seed, and Embiid started to go off. I think Embiid probably won it over the last month of the season or so. But I personally wouldn't not give it to Jokic simply because I didn't want him to win three straight. And I hope voters don't think that way, tho I think we all know some do.

What's so impressive about him is that he really does do what his team needs offensively on any particular night. If they need him to score big bc Murray is off, he'll do that like last night. Need him to be more of a playmaker and not score much, no problem. Need him to just control the offensive glass and just set screens, he's up for it. Truly a generational offensive superstar player.

And he's a better athlete than a lot of people say and suggest. He doesn't run fast and doesn't jump high. But athleticism isn't just running and jumping. He's actually very agile with great quickness and reaction time. He's a very fluid athlete. Strength and agility and balance and reaction time and anticipation are all athletic traits.

Guaranteed some voters didn't vote for Jokic because he already won two in a row and they felt he didn't "deserve" three in a row. Agreed it's bad logic, but that's what they did to Jordan with those Malone votes, and Lebron with those Rose votes.

I felt this year is very close between Embiid and Jokic, but Embiid didn't win it last year and Jokic getting it twice already absolutely factored in the final voting.

Wouldn't lose too much sleep over who gets selected by the Stupid Convention.

The votes for the 2023 NBA MVP award are cast by a panel of 100 sportswriters, journalists and broadcasters from the United States and Canada.
