if you enjoyed FF Strangers of Paradise you'd probably like Devil May Cry tbh, very similar gameplay

I loved Strangers of Paradise aside from the awful dialog. The Playstation catalog has all the classics but I might start with DMC 5 Special Edition because it is made for the PS5.
Yeah my first Final Fantasy was IV on the SNES, back when it was called II in the US. I really want to play the real FFII at some point and WonderSwan Color (was a compe or to the Game Boy Color in Japan, made by Bandai) has a port that looks straight SNES level which I want to emulate on my hacked Switch at some point. I think it looks and sounds so much better than the pixel remasters that are too clean and just a bit dirtier (in a good way) than the GBA version.
Really sad the FF3 WonderSwan Color port got axed.

Never got to play 4,5, or 6 because Japan but those were just remastered and released a few months ago on the PS Store.
4 and 6 came out in the US on the SNES. Most people seem to consider 6 the best of the 2D games but I personally like 4 better. I still occasionally play through them on my hacked SNES Classic. Hearing that FF IV battle theme on a real stereo I have my TV hooked up to instead of the 13" mono TV I played it on in 1992 is really something. This and Chrono Trigger were the two games that got me into RPGs, though I have in the last couple of years become a big fan of the Dragon Quest series too.
Highly recommend firing up FFIV on the bsnes emulator sometime if you haven't played it.

Tomorrow is a great day to be a Spurs fan and PS5 owner, with the release of FF16 and NBA Draft!
Dude I beat this game like 20 times on my SNES. Great soundtrackI know it's technically 4 but it was 2 for me back then.
how do u like my new lineup..........

Man they really did not skimp on the cutscenes in FF16
They made up for it by skimping on the framerate and resolution tho
What games haven't made the grade for you lately? Of the stuff I have played this year (Elden Ring, Control, Yakuza Like a Dragon, and Zelda TOTK) the only one I didn't want to finish was Control. The RT looked really cool but I got super bored with the combat, story, and setting. Don't think Control was anywhere near as fun as Quantum Break was.
?
FF16 runs flawlessly with max graphic settings.
I heard the 30 fps mode is solid but I was talking about the unlocked fps mode.
It's grown on me. The map smoke it re-hides
Generating the most won't necessarily Win
While i would not say it runs flawlessly because it definitely does not hit a consistent 60fps, it's still pretty good and not particularly immersion breaking. Not at all like Jedi Survivor.
I wouldn't say the problem is they havent made the grade per se, but idk man, the older i get the harder it is for me to get through some of this especially with maybe 4-5 hours max per week i have to game. of the recent games i've played (like in the last year or so) that didnt cut it, i'd say Arkham knights, Callisto, Far Cry 6, deathloop, Godfall, Hogwarts, and Valkyrie elysium were all meh to bad. I've played a handful of other games that were decent but i could never bring myself to finish before i got bored and moved on to something else - RE8, RE4 remake, Ragnarok, Plague Tale Requiem, returnal, Elden Ring, Horizon, Spiderman, Jedi Survivor, Forbidden West - these are all good games that i liked but just for whatever reason started to feel like a chore. But i intend to eventually play and beat them all at some point.
Honestly since 2020, the only games ive played to completion are probably FF7, Ghost of Tsushima, LoU Pt 1 and 2, CP2077, Fallen Order, Halo Infinite, and Dying Light 2. I am playing Diablo IV right now which is solid but also gets repe ive in the end game. FF16 has been pretty enjoyable for me thus far though, and i intend to actually play this all the way through before moving onto something else
edit: add the first plague tale and GOTG to the list of games i actually finished, forgot about those.

RDR1 finally getting a remaster it looks like, as the game was just rated in Korea

ing Rockstar/Take 2 man. I've been waiting for some type of next gen 60fps patch for RDR2 like nearly every other AAA game has received. I'm sure they're just going to do a full re-release eventually for a $70 price tag like they have with GTA V every console generation.
Could always get it on PC. I was able to play 1080p60 on a pretty modest system: Xeon E3-1231v3 (like an i7 from 2014), 16GB DDR3-2400, and a GTX 1660 Super.
If they let their money making machine to some third rate trash bin company to "remaster" the first 3 GTAs, just think what they will do with a Red Dead if it even happens.
I have zero trust or faith in Rockstar anymore. 10+ years milking GTA5 and they cant release a proper game anymore. gots
Rockstar gets a pass from me for making the greatest game of all time, Red Dead Redemption 2. Anything after that is icing on the cake.
100%
My favorite game of all time as well
Really? The last 1/3 of RDR2 was a ing chore for me and I turned it off on the epilogue.
Like Kony said I don't have the patience anymore for most games tbh. The only games I've finished were Gow, Ragnarok, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, and the Spider-Man games. Still have GT7, Control, THPS, LoU2, and Deathloop queued or partially done.
While I don't agree with you on RDR2, I definitely have a harder time finishing games now. TV shows are much the same. I assume that's just because of my age, my kids' ages, etc. At the end of the day I just want to put something on TV that I don't have to put much thought into so it isn't a big deal when I fall asleep to it.
