CRT might eventually find it's way in. But right now it's simply too divisive. And ultimately it's because both sides in America are too emotional & quick to act.
"Search for truth" isn't the problem in 2023 America. It's discovering what we want and stand for. Liberals argue we have to unearth the past to rip off the bandage. I'm not foreign to this perspective as Holocaust grandchild. But as I said, it's simply too heated right now. We should be coming together not settling scores IMO.

I'll play devils advocate. And yet USA was never stronger (recently) than around the early 2000s. When Bush (still my most disliked) led the nation.
What changed? I understand the argument what better time than now? If not now than when? But acknowledge that this search for the truth is dividing this country. Right or Wrong. It's the wedge.

I might be viewing this too extremely as Polak. We need nation harmony over anything else. America is kinda a collection of entrepreneurs/businesses running the show.
We immigrated to USA on promises and arguments that ultimately were wrong. We were lied to. Does it stop us from contributing to the public, bettering ourselvers & loved ones. And yes helping the System that will give the next "sucker" an opportunity? It's not ing perfect. But it's been proven successful for 100s of years. That 1 single demographic 12% is losing shouldn't overtake all the successful stories.

I understand. Your perspective is let's focus on the small ignored versus the large successful.
But my viewpoint is from an Immigrant. I had to conform and it made me successful.
The pitfall I think you're making is assuming one can change focus/shift one way and it won't have an affect on the other. IMO Americas focus on small groups has led to a loss in what the greater meaning is. Now American is ambigious and with it the goals.

Yes I am. And that's a credit to the American dream system I was raised in - forced to conform.
It's not an either/or situation. Subjugation means one group benefits at the expense of another. Ignoring the power dynamics is only viable if you belong to the favored group.
That's fair. I'm believer of either/or. Maybe that's my Eastern side. I've seen examples of the opposite occur in America.

The funny thing about America is it means different things to different people. But IMO we have to do away with regarding it as systematically wrong etc. No one said its perfect but we are both on this boat by choice
