Wemby seems a bit soft mentally. This is why you need to add another all star level player or two with him to take the pressure off him.

Never take offense numbers seriously in a Summer League game.C- is generous brotha… 2-13 from the field. 4 turnovers, multiple missed layups, 1/6 from 3 including an air-ball, etc. That was about as bad an offensive debut as anyone could’ve imagined tbh.
Thankfully his defense was great despite that poster.

Can't be any worse. That was a burn the ing tape kind of game, at least the second half. Loved the passes Victor was making in the first half though even if the jumper wasn't dropping.

Eh, Wemby had not practiced with SL team before; it is a faster pace than in france; and other guys have to learn his strengths/weaknesses.
If they are going to four down him on offense he's going to struggle.
If they bring back the beautiful game and put him in the Diaw position at the top of the key he's gonna feast.

His best offense this season is going to be pick and pops and and maybe some PnRs where he can just catch it and lay it up.
He was getting the ball 20 feet out like he was Jokic. He can't just dribble through guys like Joker (that will never be a big part of his game ) and his dribble isn't tight enough to go around even bigs yet.
He was nervous, unsure of where he needed to be on either end, and is not built for a me first game like SL.
He was out on the perimeter guarding Miller for most of the game and he still had 5 blocks
He'll be absolutely fine unless you expected him to have a Duncan level rookie year tbh

Wow, I've only read through the last few pages here, but didn't expect people here to be dumping on him this much. A lot of us thought he might not be ready right away, so just give him some time. He will get better. I didn't think I'd be one of the people saying this, but it's only one game.

not really. They were clearly a step above the Hornets despite Wemby’s struggles. They played lock down defense all the way until the fourth when it didnt matter anymore.
The Hornets are bad, worse. I'll give you that.
