Also my other take

As lukewarm as I agree Blake Wesley has been, the flashes are absolutely brilliant.

But then he'll do something insane the next play. Chucking that poor look 3 after Vic cut it to one with the open three? Getting stuffed on drives. Hitting the jets down court but zig zagging awkwardly like there's no plan. It's terrible.

Loved some of his poke aways. When he does get a red carpet to the rim those slams are confident. There was a play where he got the ball on the three point line and faked his defender into opening a lane and he took a burst untouched right to the basket. Savvy here and there but he must clean up the sloppy unbridled errors.

It's all in his eyes when he has the ball.
He has a certain mindset and his eyes only see certain things.
He needs help opening his eyes and... not slowing down his brain, but getting him to consider options on the fly before just doing.

Regarding Wesley

It's all something that smooths out with repe ion.

He needs to run, perhaps even in Austin if it means more minutes. With repe ion he can train that decision making into consistently plus value contributions.

Agree with the general sentiment in this thread about Blake Wesley

He makes egregious mistakes and these tend to make him look exceptionally bad. But he also shows flashes of lightning fast speed and crazy athleticism that reveal how strong his upside is. At the end of the day, he's only 20 years old, and many of his mistakes are fixable. I think many people at this point have simply decided to have a negative view of Wesley, and every mistake he makes just serves to confirm their preconceived notions.

We always knew he was going to be a 2-year project. Let's give him another year of development before we start deciding he's not an NBA player.

Branham has had a great summer league. I just don't know why people don't realize several players were super jittery coming into the last game for Vic and it completely affected their performances.

Yeah, you make a good point I new that Wemby would be super nervous it really didn't dawn on me that everyone would also be very nervous. I guess playing in a sold out place with so many reporters, cameras, and stars at courtside would make any player nervous
