Personally I think it's poetic that in the middle of a major republican appointment where they're completely unable to read the room and make politically educated decisions, you're arguing about their past ability to make politically educated predictions, pretending like they were expecting to get trounced. How is that better, exactly? This isn't sports, expecting to get beat means you did an objectively job of campaigning.
Ya old salt, you. Red Wave was being broadcast cover to cover on Fox News before the elections. Even 538 was predicting it for a while. I know, I was watching political boards and laughing as conservative heads were (metaphorically) exploding. They weren't happy to take the house, they were relieved that the night wasn't a total washout.
