I was not just criticizing him but of course everybody here sees that.
Thing is I pointed out the biggest holes in his game and I will observe if he is filling them up. That's about it.
I do not like the hype just because I see a basketball player not a freak. Being astonished he made a dunk or made a 3 when he is not that good of a shooter? I mean come on.
I am harsh but that's how I mostly are when I coach - so to fix things.

What stood out and is clearly noticeable is 1. the assists, his progress are visible, he is starting to have the feeling for teammates positioning and pass timing and 2. rebounds, he is clearly putting more effort on it
His rebounding has frankly shocked me. I was expecting 8.5-9.
His biggest problems at the moment are inefficiency and turnovers. Those are things that naturally come around with time and familiarity with teammates.
As shown in my last post, he significantly reduced his turnovers from October to November. Let's hope that trend continues.
What’s his go-to move on offense right now? His mode of scoring seems wildly inconsistent from game to game. Obviously he can get out and run in transition but in the half court game it often boils down to long jumpers

It's perimeter oriented dribbling and shooting over the top, thanks to this wonderful "system". But in a normal offense with half ass talent, I think it's a high post triple threat as well as a big guy who can actually handle and pass the ball in transition. The one thing is, regardless of whether he actually has a post game or not (debatable), he gets doubled anywhere from the mid post down in just about every game.

In a game where he fights for a rebounds he gets 20 of them.
I want more of that from him. That is what I demanded all season long.
Called it before the season (when he was averaging 5). Of course rebounding was never gonna be an issue for him, just a question of focus.
There are 4 ing morons on the court with vw at all times....all 4 morons REFUSE to pass vw the ball when he has his hand raised up anywhere near the basket.
Only VW can get to a high pass - unless one of 4 said morons are just not able or are unwilling to throw the pass higher than the defenders near vw.
The rare times when they at least ATTEMPT a pass - something good happens...
so VW - by necessity - (fortunately or unfortunately) is starting to learn that he has to be nearer the basket to get his own.
