It would be a of a lot easier than trying to find a Wemby type player, tbh.
easier yes, a of a lot easier? SGA is MVP material this year.

Wemby will be MVP material for years to come. Why are you still on this argument? Just let it die, bro.

Back to back stinkers against the LA teams on national tv…love to see it

Wemby will have his first matchup against Embiid this coming Monday and then we’ll play OKC on Wednesday on ESPN. Those 2 games could be huge for the ROTY narrative.

the best free agent/trade player the Spurs got was Aldridge, San Antonio doesn’t attract superstars, small market and not super interesting city. So let’s hope that they can draft one. Wemby is better than Chet no question about it but finding a SGA type player is not going to be easy. I hope the Spurs don’t go after Trae, doesn’t defend and doesn’t shoot well, he is paid 40 millions.
    A) we already have our sga in wemby, what we need is a chet level PG. admitting my hard to find, but much easier to find than wemby or sga. I’d be happy with a guy like Jrue holiday, Derrick white, Maxey, or even a Giddey.
    B) as DAF86 already said, wemby is a lot more difficult to find than sga.

The spurs with sga and Chet in place of wemby isn’t going anywhere, OKC has team around them. The spurs don’t.

Wemby needs to make sure he destroys Chet

    Wemby 3.1 (league leader)

    Chet 2.5

At the half way point in the season Wemby is gaining momentum and Chet is cooling a bit.
Wemby leads All Rookies in Pts, Rebs, Blks, Steals, and is 5th in assists. It's easy to imagine that he will finish the season as a leader in multiple stats.

To put it into perspective, in one half of a season Wemby's pts are roughly equal to Sabonis/Porzingis, Rebs are at Jarrett Allen/Nic Claxton levels, more blocks than Brook Lopez, in steals he's neck and neck with Haliburton. WTF?!?!?
It's taken me quite a bit of time and study to get my head around him as a player. I've said it before, I'll say it again, he was underrated coming into the NBA as the most hyped prospect since Lebron.

Such an alien. And let's not forget, he's OUR alien.

I think it would be kinda funny if Chet won and then Wemby took it out on him every time they faced for the next decade. It would be worth it.

Richard Jefferson is a real Wemby hater from the begening, he lobbies everywhere he goes for Chet with insane arguments...

Listen to him explaining Chet as a 3rd option has a tougher path than Wemby as the 1st..

Don’t tell Pop, but the 65 game minimum doesn’t apply to ROY. He might sit every other game for the rest of the season.

    Tonight Chet had 15pts, 5rbds, 5asts, 4blks on 37% shooting in 32 minutes.

By any means that's a good game for a rookie but are they SERIOUSLY acting like he's better than Wemby?
He had a block at the end whoop dee doo he helped the team win!! I mean OKC lead the whole time but that doesn't count.
And surely Wemby couldn't have made that same block in that situation... smh

Almost forgot: he also was the fifth highest scorer in his team, that's gotta account for something, right?

That whole debate is absolutely ludicrous.

Man, I was looking back at Rookie Duncan's stats, and he played 39 mpg, 82 games. Those were the days.

I’d Rather The Spurs Be A Laughing Stock For Putting Wemby On A Minute Restriction Than A Laughing Stock for Their Generational Superstar Suffer A Long Term Injury Basketball Players As Tall As Him Are Usually Known For.

Chet looked tired again yesterday, OKC fighting for the top spot might have a toll on him.

Except for a late block (just after being blocked himself) he was very average, passing on shots he usualy takes etc

tim was older, I honestly agree with Pop on Victor load management, Victor has a freak body and needs working on his stamina. Having him late game a bit gassed is the best way to get him injured.

Wemby looked tired against the Celtics as well (even though he scored 27). Maybe they're hitting the rookie wall?
