I think Putin is ready to negotiate now. The best that could realistically be achieved is probably a lasting ceasefire that locks in de facto territorial gains for Russia.
Ukraine doesn't appear to want that or any compromise as long as we're willing to pay for endless war that we can't afford.
Moldova, Georiga -- these are important considerations in a larger context. Ukraine doesn't solve them though.
Now there's like 10 million mines in Ukraine. It's not a realistic task with the manpower Ukraine has.

This war will not end till Ukraine is taken, or Russia is ready to collapse either from external and or internal factors.
