Nuggets really trynna replace KCP with Westbrick.

Can't wait for him to waive off a Jokic mismatch in the post, with a Murray mismatch on the perimeter on the same possession and calling his own number instead.

Surprised Toppin got that much, Pacers getting close to a tax team
They were in the conference finals. The overwhelming majority of teams who are good enough to make a conference finals operate in or around the tax.

Lakers and Warriors are really the only teams who salary situations don't match their production. The Bulls as well but they seem to be correcting that mistake.

All it took for the Bulls to perhaps get their together and pick a rebuilding direction was to owe the Spurs a pick.

I’m completely resigned to the fact that we’re soft tanking, so my POV is now with maximizing that effort in mind. So with that… I don’t want any of these FA scrubs. Batum on a minor 1+1 would be fine.

If the Nuggets can bring back (Gary) Harris, they should be fine.

But they need better backup C and PG options than the corpse of Jordan and washed Westbrook.

it, I’d take Lavine if they’re going to drop protections and give us another first (preferably 2029). It’s not like we’re ever going to need the cap space for anything else.

why? we never do anything. One thing I can guarantee is that whoever we sign, we'll hvae to overpay cause otherwise that player has no desire to play here.
    Thaaaaat’s no longer true.

Pacers seem kind of expensive for a team that isn't quite there. They have wiggle room with their own picks and such, but Siakam is already 30. Not in horrible shape or boxing themselves in, but they'll need some creativity.

Will have to see what Mathurin returning and (they hope) Walker emerging does for them.

If that’s the case, trade for Lavine and get the extra draft capital. Take on bad deal for picks if you are soft tanking.

I’d still take Gordon Hayward for wing depth/mentor role.

I don’t understand Westbrook opting in if he wants to play elsewhere. So for 2M dollars you risk being traded somewhere you dont want vs choosing your destination?
Don't believe him playing elsewhere is a him decision.

Ah yes, the casual hate for Zach (and any Spur flavor of the month for that matter) blinding commonssense. It’s not about Zach so much as the Bucks having 1) to cut money, and 2) little ways to inject youth into their roster. That has value to these capped out teams, which should be ruthlessly exploited, as in here by the spurs 1) by moving off a bad deal, and 2) picking up a small asset.
you do realize that Brook Lopez is better than Zach Collins right? Collins is terrible and can’t protect the rim. His deal is also a year longer

Lavine might be a redemption story as well. That being said, I'd be shocked if the Spurs traded for him.

KCP to Orlando is a surprise to me (I thought Philly or Denver) but it’s a great signing for Magic exactly what they need shooting at the 2.

Good for Spurs too as it keep the Magic firmly in that top 8 group and separates them from the Hawks even more.

Can’t see the Hawks being close to anyone in the top 8 in the East from this season.

The idea is largely based on the assumption that we aren’t trying to be good

Sure but he had to know that right? I can’t believe he would have no idea that he was not wanted and is 4M really not worth giving up in hopes you land a bigger longer deal somewhere either way?

Whispers are that he's roundly disliked, a religious freak Candace Owens-fan type.

It seems pretty fair - hes damn good on defense and hits 3’s and proven he can play on winning teams. Will be interesting how Caleb Martin fares in comparison…Monk got about the same as KCP (an extra year but annually the same)

Got all his money from when he was released by OKC, goes to greece for a few months, ends up in LA for all his troubles

I need to see that Primo and Porter Jr backcourt during the season

Good intel. I did not know.

Re: Lavine. If we were a serious team and you wanted this type of player… why not just sign Lonnie Walker for $5MM instead of paying Lavine $150MM?
