The thing is Tua WAS the consensus #1 overall pick in 2020 and had been for at least two years, and only Burrow's SEC championship victory over Bama + national le + Heisman at the very end of the 2019 NCAAF season + Tua's late-2019 season injury at the end of his Bama career which changed all of that in Burrow's favor. Before that, Burrow wasn't even a consensus top 3 QB in that draft.

"Tank for Tua" was a real thing and Miami had bought into that and planned for that for a very long time. Sure, they won some games down the stretch, but that was mainly after the Tua injury and Burrow's ascent anyway, so it roughly evened out. But the scores from the first few games of the season pointed to blatant tanking.

Mate, Flores NEVER wanted Tua, that was the whole rift. He wanted Herbert (come draft time when Burrow was out of reach) and Ross overruled him

Flores was at best a knight on the chessboard though. The fans and Ross all wanted Tua. The media picked Tua to Miami as early as the end of the 2018 regular season. It was the media's dream fit. Tropical and southern boy goes to tropical and southernmost team.

Let Tua play. Bro is being paid Millions. Team of men are dependent on him.

I remember in my time teammates getting multiple Concussions. Steve Young was never sheltered.

1 more run for the QB. Let the Man decide.

Dang, looks like the Rodgers/Packers game in Dallas in the playoffs... 2016. even down to the Cowboys similar type of long TD from Dak to #88 to the 28-13 score for the road team.
Darth_Pelican looks like Carr is legit and you guys might have a SB contender, but it's early. How was Six Flags?

Dim Zimmer was the dumbest hire ever if you're going to fold on the Prescott contract. Would have been okay if you're planning on moving on from Prescott but you shouldn't have done both. Cowboys will never win in the playoffs until Jerry Jones dies.

To be fair to Prescott, that INT was on the WR Brooks for slipping on the in-route and Prescott isn't the one (Zimmer) responsible for the Saints putting up 35, 5 touchdowns on 5 drives, in Dallas in the first half.

Why did Jackson give up the ball so early??? I thought he could’ve gone another 20 yards on steam alone before giving it up. The Raiders D was in remarkably bad position

Yeah, he's not the garbage time Joe Montana Mark Celibate that he was in 2018 to 2020 (pre leg injury).

Purdy, Prescott, Jackson, Richardson, Lawrence all had ty games. But, out of the QBs today I'm most disappointed in today, it's Jared Goff.

That's got to be some of the most awful last-drive game management from a QB that I've ever seen, and it proves Detroit under Campbell A) made a big mistake with the new top end contract with Goff, and B) won't make or win the Super Bowl as long as Goff is the starting QB.

How does a 9-year veteran starting QB, drafted first overall no less, not know that you can't throw short passes over the middle of the field when you're down more than a field goal needing a TD late in the game? I mean he was handed great field position with a spare timeout, no less. Apart from the Williams no/catch on the sideline all he did was throw 4-6 yard curls to the middle of the field, well short of the goal line with no timeouts and they would have run out of time even if they were caught... Seriously Jared Goff? Detroit is in huge trouble. The average middle school starting QB would know better than that.

Reid still the same conservative old of always. Imagine kicking the FG on 4th and goal with 1 yard to go in 2024.

Not to semen shield for Prescott but he was far from the reason Dallas lost and snapped their two-year home winning streak today. When the defense gives up 44 points and 90% conversion on third down, five touchdowns on five drives in the first half, you can't fault the guy for chucking it into double coverage down 22 in the fourth to your best player, and the first INT was the young WR slipping on the in route.

Prescott did enough in the first half to win the game. The running game still looks shot (Deuce Vaughn is nothing like Prime Tony Pollard pre-injury. I don't know wtf the coaches see in him? He has no quickness, no lateral agility, and I don't think he's ever gotten more than a 3 yard gain on a rush play. Also he's not a great receiver) and the middle of the line doesn't block the way they used to. Prescott is missing his favorite middle target (tight end Ferguson) which is a major issue on got-to-have-it type drives, playing from behind. Doesn't quite trust Schoonmaker yet to fill that void. Lamb again disappeared in the second half, but was getting triple covered every play. Tolbert has been awful but he did make a few plays today, but settling for FGs early and not being able to run for more than 3 ypg is killing this offense.

I don't get why Reid is afraid to sneak Mahomes. Probability wise it's a low injury risk play for the QB because it's not high speed at all. Yes it happened once in 2019 and cost them a few games that year (but not the Super Bowl) but it was a fluke and it's dumb as rocks to go away from a money play just because your demigod QB got injured once in his career because of it.
