Millennial_Messiah apparently Kareem Hunt had 17 snaps last week and he touched the ball on 16 of them

Gonna have elite fantasy production at least until Pacheco gets back.
Aww sweet, you picked him up on fantasy, was it easy?

I will say that if that is true then KC shouldn't be telegraphing it like that. Could be just an anomaly, but they won't move the ball much if putting him in the game means "stack the box because it's going to be a run up the middle". Still got to use the other backs like Perine and even CEH even though the latter isn't very good as a pure runner. Hunt is a complete back and always was, cutting him was y and stupid and gift-wrapped Brady a free ring instead of Mahomes, and it's glad to see him back in his old form. He should still have 2-3 solid years left due to low mileage in the Cleveland years.

No doubt Hunt is the bell cow, should have always been since Mahomes' redshirt rookie year, and should be even when Pacheco gets back, though Hunt is also a good receiver like a bigger CMC or like Deebo, so KC will have a luxury of weapons to use at different positions once Pacheco returns, assuming he returns to full strength. Lots of options to take pressure off Mahomes to be Atlas, and their defense is still quite stout, so I don't see why they shouldn't win the championship again this year barring more injuries.

They weren’t really telegraphing it, it was a one time thing because he hadn’t played in forever so they didn’t want to give him a full snap workload. Next week I suspect he’ll be on the field for 60+% of the snaps.

Someone else was ahead of me on the waiver order but for whatever reason prioritized picking up Indy’s backup running back first before Hunt and that’s the only reason I was able to get him in fantasy …I also got Mason off waivers and I’m pretty sure McCaffrey isn’t coming back this year so I’m set at running back.

that's a beastly backfield tbh. Though the 49ers could be playing from behind a lot this year more than usual so maybe not quite what it should be.

DAF86 the only thing that can cost the Chiefs the three-peat is the bad offensive tackle play especially Jawaan Taylor's "Flozell Adams" esque false start habit

Injuries more likely would be the cause. That’s what usually derails teams that have had multiple consecutive playoff runs. If they’re healthy Reid can plan around that one weak spot.

There are several receivers they can tried for though and they should. Raiders aren’t going to trade them Davante Adams (same division) but they should target someone like Hopkins

Does anyone think McCaffrey actually plays this season?

Every injury update about him gets worse, and it's clear SF never provided the full story about how bad his injury is.

I don't know, if the Niners are on the bubble or better come playoff time he might return late in the season, but if they're out of playoff contention he won't.

He's been injured and concussed enough times and he's been paid handsomely that he might as well consider retirement honestly.

I agree. Hopkins isn't a name that came to my mind originally but it's a good one, also Hill should be available if Tua is out indefinitely and Miami would eat most of the cap hit this time. Don't know if Hill is a good fit anymore considering they already have Worthy on the roster who's kind of the same player, but can't ever have enough speed I guess. However you'd think they'd be looking for more of a bigger possession style receiver and perhaps Hopkins fits that bill.

Adams is going to the Jets or Saints without a doubt. He's a surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer, already stuck it out over a year with the Raiders despite them trading away his friend he left a good situation to play for which was crooked stuff by a crooked owner (Davis, par for the course) and franchise... and thus he's earned the right to choose who to play for. It comes down to what compensation teams are willing to give up. Obviously Adams is a Carr chaser but I'm not sure he's a great fit on the Saints because he kind of duplicates Olave. The Jets need him and could use him worse than anyone, it seems like a slam dunk and a match made it heaven. There's a reason why the Jets lost at home to a lousy opponent 10-9 not touching the endzone and it's because they couldn't move the chains on those critical 3rd & 5 type situations, Adams solves that specific problem and more. Garrett Wilson is more talented than Adams ever was but Adams has the football IQ and connection with Rodgers that is irreplaceable.

    Injuries on the Defense.

Chiefs have had elite Defense & Special Teams for atleast a few years now.

    Same Defensive Coordinator since 2019
    Same Kicker since 2017

Seems he negotiationed an extension while most likely knowing something was wrong.

I think he'll rehab for a couple months and then he will give it a Go. His absence hurts the passing game but Mason negates the loss on the ground.

Yeah he’s always been injury prone and his Achilles injuries sound worse every time we find out more information. He has tendinitis in both Achilles and he went to Germany to get treatment. You don’t go to Germany to get cutting edge treatments not approved in America in the middle of the season unless you’re dealing with something major.

Interrupting the Chief sniffing with trade news.

Raider purported to be moving Davante Adams for the best offer.
Said only to want a 2nd Round pick and change.

Bills, Ravens, Commanders do you want?
Ravens too stupid to even try.

I remember Kobe and others doing that back in the day. I believe the NFL has a clause where you can forfeit guaranteed money and get put on the NFI list for doing that, though, if the surgery complications from an unauthorized procedure such as that led to further damage or complications.

That said, it's a ing joke how horrid the USA healthcare system is, and the FDA, NIH, and CDC are all a ing joke. Laughingstock of the world to have "muh #1 economy" but be ranked a paltry 47th out of roughly ~200 coutries in terms of life expectancy, so barely even top quartile. Right to try has always been a Trump principle, like him or not, but no, big gumment gotta decide what we can and can't do with our bodies here in the USA.

Obviously injuries are the #1 factor that derails any good team's season in any given year, like the Niners in 2020, Patriots in 2008, or the Rams this year.

Only team in recent memory that seemed to overcome mass amounts of season ending injuries including to the QB1 and still win the Super Bowl was the 2017 Eagles. That was a of a team.

Kobe did it during the offseason which is different because you could heal and plan around it. I can’t remember Kobe ever doing it in the middle of the season to try and get past an injury he was trying to come back from.

Zero chance CMC comes back this season imo. Not that it'll matter, this Niner team will be done in by injuries ala 2020 by November.

Which New Orleans team do you envision playing?

  22. #22
David Carr certainly pining for Davante Adams.
New Orl said to be one of Adams preferred teams.

Joe Mixon 50-50 vs the Bills.

I honestly have no idea how the game is going to go. Both teams are injured. Saints gave away 2 games on the last possession. I guess a sloppy low scoring Chiefs win would be the safe pick.

Khalil Shakir WR out for Bills.

I don't suppose the Bills could get Davnate Adams.
