I legitimately can’t believe how little shooting this team has
Our 3 point specialist is a guy who shot under 37% last year. How good do you think our rank and file shooters are?

good game to lose and a good way to lose it TBH.

spurs got to within three against an improved finals team... with wemby & cp3 shooting a combined 23%. and with the spurs playing sloppy.

if it had been a blowout from the start then that would've been a different story.

as i've mentioned in my last thread, 75% of this roster (+ future draft picks) need to be on the trading block. the spurs don't have a #2 option.

there's wemby ... and then two #3.5 options.

it's funny that i'm actually the optimistic one on here for the first time since the kawhi era

    something like this:
castle can ball. keep cp3, barnes, castle, wemby. make a big trade.

Who are you trading all of our picks for that is going to take us to the promise land?

    great question.

    • i'm not a fan of this player (no one should be)
    • and he's past him prime

but he's gonna ask for trade when he realizes his team is going nowhere again.

i'm trading vassell, sochan, jones and a couple picks for kd.

i don't see it happening, obviously. but kd will be very unhappy at some point this season.

    cp3 / kd / wemby

    i'd take jimmy butler also.

obviously, these are pie in the sky scenarios. but the spurs should be swinging for the fences imo.

i'd settle for less then either of the two players i mentioned. this roster needs talent.

sometimes sochan can be so useless cause he cant nothing on offense.Doesnt do nothing on offense,Cant shoot,Cant create plays And cant
    finish at the rim.
I actually thought Sochan was mostly pretty good tonight. He does have to clean up some dumb things obviously, but so do many others.

In an ideal world Harrison moves to the bench later this season, and they find a better 3/D SF (or start Champ). Seems unlikely, but by the end of the season the rotation should looks like:

    CP3 — Castle — Tre
    Vassell — TBD
    Champ — Keldon
    Sochan — Harrison
    Wemby — Bassey

Rolling of next year in some way:
    - Zach
    - Tre
    - Malaki
    - Blake

gtfo with that subtle troll bro

    Jimmy Butler????

His overrated freethrow merchant old ass was turrible in the season opener. That version is gonna be close to what you see from him the rest of his career.

Butler might be washed by now, lots of years and miles on him

I could imagine the heat trading Butler for Kawhi with the delusion that they could fix Kawhi and he'd play for Riley and Spoelstra.

I'm getting sick of Pop looking so happy after loses.
At some point he has to show that he cares about winning again or make room for someone who will.

Wemby needs those on ball creation reps even if it cost wins. He could limit those globetrotter stuff though I don't think those would ever be useful.

Lol that Kurt Thomas/Mcdyess era from 2009-2011 was bad. Trotting out Keith Bogans and Roger Mason next to Kurt Thomas and Mcdyess

Castle was easily the best player off the bench, that was good. I liked Sochan’s role with CP3 running point. If Wemby starts hitting shots, this team could be compe ive.

Sochan and Champ looked much improved going back to the preseason. Moreso their atheticism and conditioning.

I'm generally a Sochan skeptic, but I thought he did pretty good tonight as well. Definitely wasn't the biggest problem on the team, even with a couple of silly turnovers.

I also agree that one of Sochan or Barnes needs to go to the bench once Devin is back. Right now I'd probably prefer to start Barnes, but that could change if Sochan can keep this up.

Castle + Vassell + Julian + Sochan + Wemby is what it should be after a while. CP looked washed last season and looks washed now (which isnt unexpected tbh..)

Tbh if wemby doesn’t the bed this game was winnable.

overall can’t be upset with how Sochan, Barnes, Champagnie played in the starting unit. Nobody from the bench really stepped up. With that said I’m glad to see Castle was running ahead of Blake and Branham. Wonder where he finds his minutes when Vassell comes back. Will it be at Jones’ expense?

Particularly with Vic struggling, we really were missing Vassell as who could trade baskets when the other team gets hot

most predictable coach in the league

he won't even play 10 minutes
Bassey won‘t play either, unless it‘s garbage time

Sochan had a good "Sochan" game, I liked his sustained agressivity on defense.

However he still isn't an NBA player on offense and too much of a liability to me, his floor is really low and I can't see how he could just change like that tbh.

I hope he proves me wrong of course but we need better decision making, passing and scoring, he keeps messing up so many plays that should lead to an easy bucket.

I'd like him to go to the bench to try provoque something in him, Pop is overly protective of him and he's never been challenge since he arrived in the NBA.

But replace him with who? This roster is awful...
