I have most of them ignored already. I have half a page in this thread completely hidden, from people who I already had blocked prior to this. I agree, I'd be happy if they were banned after saying that... but the overall political is just never-ending.
It’s never ending because blue team thinks they can shame or score points off those idiots, not realizing that neither is possible, because they’re cult members. It reminds me of that meme poster:

Arguing on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics: even if you win, you’re still re ed.

I have those same people on ignore.

Winning record since Mitch took over, tbh.
How is that relevant to y point mate?

I'm not hating on Mitch, why is it so hard on ST to have a nuanced pov or doubts that are automatically put in the "hater" or radical box?
I don't have one specific reason, but a combination

the first thing Johnson criticized after the game was the defense. Pop would’ve most likely lost that game by playing a bunch of non-shooters together and sticking to premeditated subs ution patterns
I know, I'm playing with you bc like othersu seem to take way to radically my pov.

I'm an agnostic by nature, there are too any stuff we/I don't know anyway, either side is just speculating.

It's only been a cple games, let's wait mid season at least to assess the situation, I'm not gonna judge him game by game

The problem here is that your take about rookie coaches is actually the opposite of "nuanced", tbh. It's just typical mindless old school mindset.

If Mitch is the successor-in-training I’d like to see Pop return in some kind of modified form. Maybe he’s only coaching home games, and he lets Mitch really run the show. I think it would be helpful to have Pop on the bench for half of the games as what amounts to an Assistant HC role (even though he’ll have the le of HC). All of this is assuming Pop is healthy enough (priority #1) and is willing to let Mitch’s “system” take precedence

You spelled "die in a fire" incorrectly. Not sure why that dumb has always been tolerated on here when it should have been gone well before the wishing ill on coaches.

They were already kinda doing that to a degree. There have been a few times when Pop was not the one drawing up the plays, sometimes even at the end of close games. Last few years he has had this mind set of coaching by committee.

Too early to tell whether Mitch is a good coach or not but enough to tell that pop really lost it.

Obvious Things that ST has been calling for like better spacing, holding the players accountable, better subs utions, and increased offensive movements are implemented, resulting in expected improvements.

I still think pop is a great manager of people, where he draws so much respect from staff and players alike, and he does have a strong vision for the team along with an eye for basketball minds, but the ads and Os have past him by. Head upstairs and leave the bench grind to Mitch for now.

The modern-day philosopher Stephen Jackson put it best, Pop is not a great coach, he is a great leader.

I feel the same way but a leadership change like that might make it hard for Mitch to command authority when you have Pop right there over his shoulder. That dynamic could be tough despite all parties being professional. I definitely think at bare minimum an advisory position or even some kind of new position where he consults and helps in some capacity. He presence would be valuable no doubt.

For all the Pop has taken, from me included, he's one of the rare breed of coaches that understands the importance of defence.

I'm going to wait a few months to have an opinion on Mitch, but as important spacing and offence are, defences wins championships, not offences.

For as spectacular and entertaining Wemby can be on offence I want his defence to be the scarier part of his game. (It's tough tho in terms of energy expenditure tbh)

Pop dgaf about entertainment when the whole league, fans and medias are only focused on that aspect.

When comparing players, ppl only take into account their offensive numbers.

MJ would average 50/game if he played today bc of his defence

It already is. He's easily the best and most impactful defender in the game.
Noone else comes close to his level of dissuading players to attack the rim. Him averaging so many blocks while players are actively trying to avoid him is ridiculous.
He''s pretty much a guarantee of top3 defense for any competent roster.
Even guards can't easily beat him off the dribble. Other than elite scorers, how many times have we seen perimeter players even try to iso him and attack the paint?
All that while committing very few fouls, even when he swipes at the ball and tries to get steals.

I hope Pop has a recovery as close to 100% as possible, but the odds are not in his favor at his age. Pop's stroke has extra resonance for me at the moment because my best friend's dad died of a stroke a few weeks ago. He was a seemingly very healthy 72 year old, who only the week before had played two solo concerts at local venues. Hard to believe, being so sudden, but we may never see Pop in the role of NBA coach again.

Stephen Jackson is an ass. He’s just salty that the first words of Pop’s call, post trade from GS were “we’re not going to talk about an extension”.

He is great already, but it's difficult to sustain the same efforts on both ends when you go for 50 as we've seen it last game. There were many possessions where he let Poole go for a layup he could've block or at least bother, he wasn't as active on help defense.
It's not a critic, I'm not sure ppl realise how insanely difficult it is to impact both ways on a regular basis, almost no player does it as much as Wemby and it has a cost in terms of energy "available"

The pb is that media, fans etc judge players's level on their offensive games mostly.

Wemby got shat on when he was bad on offense before his last 3 games despite being stupidly impactful on defence, but it was ignored by most.

He's aware of it and he's human, he wants to be recognized as one of the best and knows his offensives numbers are what he'll mostly be judge on. He defence is already taken for granted or as "it's normal when you're 7'5..."
