I agree, but then again Sochan is the biggest beneficiary of cp3's lead passes, so it makes sense to keep him paired for long stretches, and cp3 is closing, so there's that.

It's a taboo topic among spurs fans but ultimately that might have to happen if Sochan keeps being a liability on offense unless he is spoon fed.
Castle has a way higher potential and a lot more for him with his ball handling and penetrations that we need with Cp being more and more exhausted

Nah, I think the 3 clear keepers right now are Wembs, Sochan, and Castle. Ideally, they add 2 6’6-8’’ snipers to that group, and you have your future SL. Castle can up his 3% to low 30s which is all we need really if Wembs keeps this up.
I said in another thread that Wemby Castle Sochan (in a lesser degree tbh) are untouchable for a trade.
But if Sochan doesn't improve not just his shooting but his court awareness, playmaking etc he won't be a core STARTER to me but a plug in versatile defensive player used depending on matchups/lineups
This, of course in an ideal world where Spurs finally have a decent roster, not one full of low IQ and limited players. Right now he's a no brainer by default
I 100% agree. I love that Jeremy is doing, but it's just his absolutely shocking looking jumpshot that has me concerned about him being a long-term starter level. If his jumpshot didn't look so shockingly bad form wise (again, I've said in the past that I don't care about form if it goes in, but he's not a Reggie Miller like unorthodox type of form shooter that hits them), I'd feel much better about Jeremy going forward. I was happy to see Steph bounce back and he took advantage of there being no Embiid or Drummond out there taking it to the rim, which again, is the sign of a high IQ player, which the Spurs are really lacking. Steph's a TD, Manu, Tony (I won't mention everyone as the Spurs had a lot of those guys - Boris, Brent etc.) era level teammate/player as far as IQ goes that could have played on those Spurs teams.
It's tough to have a nuanced exchange about Sochan on ST bc it's as if one had to choose a camp, either believer or hater ... smh
You'd have to be a complete idiot not to see and want the defensive grit and versatility he brings, but the balance with what he "costs" on offense varies a lot from game to game, not just bc of his shooting but his lack of "feeling" and "touch". He's very raw and I can barely see his improvements on his fundamentals tbh
This is just the RS, just imagine when teams will really scout and game plan the Spurs... Sochan will be exposed/used 100%, every team will do what they can to put the ball in his hands and make him the go to guy

spurs dont even have a reliale backup big when wendy is on the bench or cbf playing inside to rebound...9rpg is just to low for him
