A judge said in a ruling Friday that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau could not terminate employees without cause, dealing a blow to President Donald Trump’s efforts to dismantle the agency.

The court order came in response to a lawsuit by the National Treasury Employees Union and the CFPB Employee Association, among other groups, that sued the agency and its acting director Russell Vought this week. They had asked the judge to “declare unlawful and set aside the defendants’ actions and intended further actions to dismantle the CFPB.”

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson prevents any mass firings at the agency and prohibits the deletion of agency data.

“Defendants shall not terminate any CFPB employee, except for cause related to the specific employee’s performance or conduct; nor shall Defendants issue any notice of reduction-in-force to any CFPB employee,” the judge wrote.

    Red states start to whine

"Idaho Republican Rep. Mike Simpson, a senior appropriator whose district is home to a number of national parks, said in an interview his staff is talking to the administration about how an OMB-directed, government-wide hiring freeze will affect the National Park Service.
Meanwhile, another appropriations lawmaker, Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS), "has told the White House that DOGE’s dismantling of USAID will impact cons uents who have long relied on selling their crops to a government program that fights hunger abroad."
Another senator now jumping into the discussion is Sen. S ey Moore Capito (R-WV), whose state has some of the highest percentages of Trump voters in America. She expressed concern that the recent evisceration of the National Ins utes of Health could stall biomedical research in West Virginia.

“I’m hearing from my ins utions concerned about it,” she said. “It’s pretty drastic.”

A Trumper I know here in MD works in shipping and receiving at super defense contractor Northrop Grumman. I asked him what is he going to do once musk and Doge move to the defense dept and start doing all these cuts? I told him he had better start looking for jobs now because it’s a high probability that his job is going to be wiped out. He literally just had this blank look on his face when I asked him did he regret voting for Trump now. And the dummy just went out and bought a house lol

even if Trumplandia tries to walk this all the way back, the threat has already been demonstrated: Trump can nullify appropriations and turn off the money spigot to the states.
Trump's ability to steal appropriations and cut off funds is a known parameter at this point

He's left the reservation now---never to return. He's blood drunk over getting shot...with the Father saving him with a Millimeter Miracle. You bet your asses he relives that moment many times of every day. Incredible ups & downs as he raises and falls by himself; even the children and Mel don't know.

    Vengeance is cruel master.

    You go, boy!!!

incompetence is a major parameter of DOGE

National Nuclear Security Administration officials on Friday attempted to notify some employees who had been let go the day before that they are now due to be reinstated — but they struggled to find them because they didn't have their new contact information.
In an email sent to employees at NNSA and obtained by NBC News, officials wrote, “The termination letters for some NNSA probationary employees are being rescinded, but we do not have a good way to get in touch with those personnel.”

The individuals the letter refers to had been fired on Thursday and lost access to their federal government email accounts. NNSA, which is within the Department of Energy and oversees the nation's nuclear stockpile, cannot reach these employees directly and is now asking recipients of the email, “Please work with your supervisors to send this information (once you get it) to people’s personal contact emails.”

didn't turn out well for Napoleon IRL

The closest I can trace that "He who saves his country" quote to the actual Napoleon is to the 1970 film Waterloo: "He who saves a nation violates no law."

Not necessary, that old man is blasting hair all over them walls.

You needed the House, son to get him stopped, and then 2/3 Senate to run him off.
    OR...
Stand down again and pray the Father has turned loose his hand.

He seems to have said that so long as the defendants acknowledge they must immediately comply with his orders, that they are free not to do so, without sanction. It's absurd.
