Not yet my hero but, he's well on his way to becoming one. So, in that spirit, let's review:
- Prosecutor campaigned on "getting" Donald Trump.
- Former President Trump was convicting of falsifying business records in the first degree under New York Penal Law § 175.10.
- Acting Associate Attorney General Matthew Colangelo left his federal government job with Biden's DOJ to take a demotion in order to assist with the prosecution.
- They had to elevate the crime to a felony, in order for them to be able to "toll" the statute of limitations - claiming Donald Trump's was out of the State or at whereabouts unknown in during the limitation period.
- They had to make up a predicate crime in order to elevate the crime to a felony. A predicate crime that was not listed in the indictment.
- Trump is appealing so, the convictions may be thrown out. And, if they are, it will probably be for lack of a predicate crime being listed.
- The Judge didn't punish Trump but, instead, issued an unconditional discharge. Why?
