Especially trading Flagg to San Antonio![]()
Those are by far the funniest trade proposals:
Mavs trade Flagg for Giannis, but they trade him to the Spurs for no reason cause Milwaukee would rather have Vassell and 4 low first rounders
You gotta be on drugs to think that’s realistic.
Especially trading Flagg to San Antonio![]()
What if we threw in Bonner and Blair?
That's a bit harsh, but I can see him being kidnapped and then being dropped off in some African desert country in his socks and underwear. Laters Nico, you've been fired.
We’re all just playing couch GM’s here and the FO would care less of our opinion. It’s the only scenario I see Nico surviving an assassination from Mavs fans trading Flagg, if they get both Giannis and #2 pick.
Bucks hands are tied if Giannis wants out and picks his destination, a contender. Take your pick, Vassell, Keldon, Sochan, Lively, Atlanta’s 2026 swap, Boston 2028 swap, whatever future picks is on the table imo. No way the Bucks have the upper hand if Giannis wants out.
As for the Spurs, they get Castle, Flagg and Wemby as their future core.
The specifics can be different with how many FRP’s or which young players are included to match salaries.
Yep. I was in the "no way Dallas trades Luka" camp before. Not making that mistake again![]()
Given his druthers, Nico Harrison would trade Flagg for Giannis straight up, but his hands are properly tied right now. He knows he won't last longterm in Dallas, so might as well go all in and get a ring to shore up his reputation and put something on his CV..I feel like the league would step in behind the scenes and put an unofficial veto on a Flagg trade with Adam Silver saying "yeah, I didn't put up with all that "Rigged!" crap for you to double down on stupid"..
A sinking Mavs franchise got thrown a life raft with Cooper Flagg--most hyped white American prospect in decades-- there is zero chance they are letting go of him even if they wanted to for "basketball reasons".
yeah and some of us bring realistic proposals, while others love science fiction.
Giannis is under contract for another 2 years. The Bucks can do whatever they want. And one thing they won't do, is trade him for Vassell and a bunch of low first rounders.
I actually think the Luka trade made it harder for Nico to do this kind of trade with Flagg. If anything, under normal cir stances, Nico might take a hard look at that offer (#2 + #14 + 2027 Atlanta + pick swap back is a tremendous offer, objectively speaking).
But he probably doesn’t do it precisely because of all the pressure he is under.
After a day to contemplate, with Klay and AD on the team, the Mavs don't need draft picks as much as they need players. The Spurs don't have enough detritus to send north to make even Nico pull the trigger.
The idea that Dallas would trade Cooper to the Spurs, their biggest rival, and not get Victor in return is just stupid.
Need Cooper to tell Dallas he doesn't want to go there. It's the only way.
The idea that a Dallas would think they could pull Victor for Flagg is even stupider.
The better hope for trading up from 2 to 1 to get Flagg would have been if NOP landed #1 and were (for whatever stupid reason they came up with) committed to the forwards they have (Zion/TMIII/Herb) wanted that potential star PG to go with them. Flagg just fits too well with Dallas current roster and their stated philosophy.
Agreed. So the whole discussion is pointless.
Or...they wouldn't have gotten much for Luka. I think the word is out on him being fat, lazy, and only wanting to play Luka ball. I'm not sure what team is looking into investing 200 million in that other than the Lakers.
And so far. Advantage Nico. Lakers were an all time bad shooting performance away from getting swept by a 6th seed. Not sure I would be in a rush to max a guy out with that being the end result.
I really hope (for your sake) you are trolling with this post.
scheme fit Flagg is a better fit on the Spurs than Harper is, but I watched both Flagg, Harper and Bailey as they played the college I went to back in the day (Bama), last year and I truly believe Harper is the best prospect out of the three. So while a SF/PF might fit better on the Spurs roster, Harper is the better overall prospect.
