My draft board is the order in which I would pick the players not necessary what I would do if I was picking for the Spurs. Also tried to come up with some nicknames and comps but I’m terrible at that. See if you can come up with better.
Most drafts don’t produce as many stars as people think.

3.1 - Tre
yup I'm fully bought in. His defense sucks, driving ability sucks, rebounds like a small guard, but the ability to get off shots at volume and shotmaking ability are so OP that I'm willing to overlook all that. If Malik Monk traded athleticism for size, also produced similar numbers with a worse team in a better conference so could absolutely see him dropping some 40 bombs on efficiency in the playoffs in the future
3.2 - Maluach
peak Roy Hibbert had legitimate DPOY impact rivaling Gobert but his issues were stone hands, lead feet, and Paul George ing his SO. Maluach doesn't really suffer from any of the aforementioned issues. High level movement relative to size with late development and a frisky shooting sample size in BAL. If you can get Hibbert defense + Brook Lopez offense, that's an amazing starting center.
3.3 - VJ
long way to go before he reaches prospect Oladipo, but I didn't watch Oladipo as an underclassman. Physical attributes are all mismatched relative to his skill - doesn't have the length/strength to be a true lockdown guy, but doesn't have the touch/handle to fully leverage his explosive athleticism on offense. Rim finishing and strength is a planet away from freshman Ant. Still, plays with effort and has a decent jumper, so will almost definitely be highly useful in a playoff setting.
3.4 - Kon
I wanted to see Desmond Bane so bad but i don't think he's got the ball skills or functional athleticism to do it. Great shotmaking in EYBL and more well rounded than Tre, but he might struggle just as much to get shots off. Definitely better than Luke Kennard, worse than Bane. That's probably a 10 year starter at the next level.
4.1 - Carter Bryant

Basically, given both functional and raw movement characteristics in combination with his shot projection, he has a chance to be one of the premier off-ball wings in the league. If you compare him with other similar wings in the class, he's younger and with a more projectable shot than Fleming, puts up higher 3 point volume and generates defensive events better than Powell, and projects as a better defensive event generator than Coward while being over 2 years younger.
4.2 Ace
I'm too much of a pussy to have him any lower. Wish he could get like CBT or something to change his mindset and shot diet, because the potential for super-Jaden McDaniels is absolutely there between his tactical skill and physical characteristics and that's an easy 35+ million/year player or third best player on a le team.
4.3 Sorber
Would I feel good about getting a healthier Wendell Carter Jr level guy in the back of the lottery? Yeah, I think I'd feel pretty good about that. I feel great about his passing at the next level, and terrible about his finishing.
4.4 Queen
The tape is just so good offensively. Doesn't play like too many bigs I've ever seen, it's like if you made a guard bigger, stronger, and slower. Closest comp for me is smaller, slower Joel Embiid. Can you make him give a on defense? If you could he'd probably be top 5 but since you probably can't this is just a hedge.

But seriously, I think all three of these guys have enough upside that I'm willing to overlook the shooting. All three are bets on high level movement scaled to size + high level production scaled to age
CMB - honestly, if he showed a projectable 3 point jumper I'd have him 3rd. One of the most scheme versatile defenders to come along in the last few years, strength + elite hand-eye coordination + high level feel and instincts gives him legitimate defensive hub potential. Offensively a better than advertised handle and good hands gives him outs as a strength based creator. Was really hoping for a 7'2+ wingspan but came in less than expected, although the vertical was better than I thought. The shot is just so, so bad that I'm not sure I can completely get there. 80th percentile outcome = Paul Millsap, one of the most underrated PFs in history

I think he might honestly be more athletic than VJ especially if you factor in strength. Functionally he leverages that strength in his driving and rim finishing. I think he also might be the best perimeter defender in the class. His shooting is probably the most broken considering his position, but when functionally athletic wings with ball skills hit, they really hit. Can he be poor man's Ausar Thompson? He's got the same dimensions and his athleticism is not top 0.1% but maybe top 1%. Feel is probably not as good, but his jumper is less broken since he's been shooting 45% on midrange over the last 2 years and started off in high school playing point guard before he grew like 8 inches.
5.4 Coward
I barely know anything about him other than the fact that he's probably going to shoot well and he has a 7'2" wingspan. Apparently he has "potential to defend" even though he had a negative dBPM against low-major compe ion last year. But who's to say? Jalen Wells also projected as a similar poor defender coming out and he was Memphis' best perimeter defender this year. Jalen Williams also had major defensive concerns coming out. Let's just take a leap of faith and stick him here.
5.5 KJ
Really question the ability to create an advantage against a set defense, turnovers are a major problem. But the stepback looked money before his injury, he's bigger than what I expected from the combine, and he's still very very young
5.6 Kalkbrenner
7'6" wingspan, 7'1" height, 9'4" standing reach with 4 years worth of high level 2FG defense and elite play finishing efficiency. Pretty good bet to be better than Luke Kornet

I still don’t get why folks have tiers going up to seven when there’s only really four real outcomes for players in any given draft like I explained above: franchise, running mates, long-term role player, and single contract players. Because they are using tiers differently than you. You are putting guys into buckets, but mo's tiers (for example) are to establish breaks in talent to where you can choose for the right fit. For mo, if you are picking 11, and all the guys in tiers 1-4 are gone... he is saying you can pick anyone in tier 5 and feel good about it, but you'd never pick a tier 6 guy over a tier 5 guy.
That logic certainly doesn't apply to the way you are using tiers, because there would be no justification in picking Edgecombe over Flagg, even though you have them in the same tier.
Fair point. I actually want to adjust mine a little bit. I’m not so confident VJ is a guy you build around, so I’m moving him down (which has a domino effect because I’m at my max in each tier)
