When was the last time the spurs played a second round pick not named Tre Jones?
There's your answer.
Last year in summer league Pop talked really highly of Sidy and made it legit seem like he was going to get a chance to be a real rotational player.
Yyyyeeeaaaahhhh...no![]()
Whoa this feels like Brad Pitt in Moneyball negotiating to get the fridge stocked with soda for three years in the Pena trade.
I still can’t believe we drafted Ingram - SMH
On The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN's Shams Charania reported the first pick of day two is being "auctioned" off by the Timberwolves and multiple suitors are in on the bidding.
There is only one way to guarantee you get your second round guy. By having the 31st pick. Sadly, I don't see the Spurs playing this auction game.
Depends on if the auction is for future second rounders. No way is anyone paying a first round pick tomorrow for a secondround pick today. Well maybe New Orleans.
I’m going to watch until pick 38 just to see who would have been on the board still but then I’m out
Any word on Spurs getting in on the 2nd round? Fleming, Reynaud, Kalkbrenner, Penda, Goldin, Broome, Thiero, Powell. That’s 8 players in no order. I think Spurs could’ve gotten a serviceable big.
I'm keeping an eye on twitter to see whether the Spurs trade back into the early 2nd round, probably watch until all of my guys are gone (Fleming, Kalkbrenner, Penda, Raynaud) then I'm out.
Powell was drafted 22 I think. Goldin, Broome I have no interest in, Thiero would be an interesting prospect for a team with some shooting around him, for inistance the Hornets or Suns should definitely consider him, but for the Spurs the non shooting quota is already filled, so I'd rather keep the powder dry than wasting a couple of picks, roster spot, and years of development for a small chance at success.
Suns now have 36 and 41 due to their trades
Per Shams: The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading the first pick in tonight’s NBA draft -- No. 31 -- to the Phoenix Suns for No. 36 and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Suns continue rebuild by moving up to 31 and 41 in draft -- send out 36, 52, 59 and two future seconds.
Shams says it’s for Fleming…
Seems like Spurs could be offering something better if they wanted. Probably they have no interest in 2nd round picks this year.
There was some talk about them eyeing Proctor, but maybe that’s with their other second round pick.
Suns making moves and being aggressive. We have a boatload of 2nd rd picks and don’t want to come off any of them
Jake Fischer: An executive this afternoon framed Minnesota’s trade conversations at No. 31 as “the Rasheer Fleming sweepstakes.”
With Phoenix moving up to the second round’s top selection, sources say the St. Joseph’s product is indeed high on the Suns’ board
