carrot top got some nice cardio in that game
and who the is that guard on the other team? dude had some really nice plays![]()
I wrote quotes from Olin about Steph from the video on the previous page https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/sho...5#post11272525
I'd previously been asking how long Steph's been working with him, and finally got the answer from this video. Pretty good interview from these guys. The Steph question/s was just something Marques asked on the side.
Btw, in another video a few weeks ago, Steph said he measured his vertical a little while ago at 41.5". He said it in one of those FaZe/Adapt Live(or whatever the channel is called) videos.

That is BEYOND Elite.
He’s a machine, a terminator. More Steph workout footage.
Steph's very close to Victor as being my favourite player on the team. I got down on him a bit towards the end of the season, though, as his efficiency went down and also his defense dropped a lot more towards the end of the season too.
I loved his at ude all season (he wants to be great and I could tell he's willing to work for it), I loved how he tried to take it to the rack all season and finish (even if some of those drives he forced it a bit), I loved how hard he tried to work nn his shooting during the season (even if the results weren't quite there), and now seeing this off-season stuff, he's definitely putting in the work (not that I didn't believe he was even if I didn't see these videos).
He's got the work ethic to go with his will and athleticism
He was a rookie, AND asked to be the primary offensive engine, AND asked to be the primary POA defender. That’s a big ask of any rookie. They are, as a rule, inefficient.
My belief is Castle will be far better than Harper. As smooth as Harper looks and with his 3 shot being better at this moment, I still feel as if Castle has the higher upside. He's more athletic than Harper and to me, he seems to have more of that dawg in him on the court. Of course I'm just basing this off of Harper's college career since he hasn't played a NBA game yet.
You know what other guard was selected 4th overall and won RoY?
El Bicho.
Dylan Harper looks like he also has dawg in him. How/why are you saying he doesn't? Going up against Cooper, he wanted to prove he's the number 1 pick. That doesn't sound like a player that doesn't have that in him. Are you just basing that off of Rutgers' record?
I also rate Steph higher, but that is because I've seen how hard he works and how much he wants it. Doesn't mean Dylan doesn't want it just as much/if not more. I don't think any of us know Dylan well enough yet as he's just joined the Spurs

I wouldn’t downplay any kid smart enough to attach himself to Manu at the hip, already. That’s a powerful mentor.
Tony vs Manu, Castle vs Dylan. Just be happy we have both dawg in Spurs. Wemby/Castle/Dylan and maybe Bryant becomes the defensive catalyst like Bowen. That’s a championship lineup that mirrors the past.
Steph has the 10th highest in-game vertical leap last year.
some nice rascal fap material there
HOLY COW Shaedon Sharpe?!?!? 5 of the top 9?!?!?
Nah, I like my statement better. Please don't tell me what I should be happy about. Geesh.
Some people just can’t stand prosperity.
Guys
Castle is developing
Your comments?
I didnt realized that Steph C is such bad shooter.
Did You see: NBA's worst shooters and finishers for the 2024-25 regular season.
I was watching the video below on how one-way players (all offense, no defense) are an archetype that's dying out.
Then he talked about Reed Sheppard and how yes, his size sample is small but he kind of fits this mold. That we'll get a better feel of him this year when he presumably gets a bigger role on the Rockets this year.
Then I started to think what if the Spurs had the 3rd pick last year, would they've still chosen Steph Castle over Reed Sheppard. I still yes and it's not because of hindsight or anything like that. I just think the Spurs don't want small guards anymore (we've seen the guards and types of players that they're bringing to the team) and I feel like they valued Castle over Sheppard even in the draft last year.
Great vid.
I wish the Suns hadn't accepted Jalen Green in the KD trade. Green was going to be an albatross contract and potential locker room cancer imo.
Vassell in the honorable mention category is accurate.
Carter Bryant looks like the exact opposite of this archetype.
