If Kyrie comes back anywhere close to what he was I do believe this iteration of the Mavs had a better chance than the Luka Mavs.

Kyrie has a torn ACL and he's old. Even young guys have trouble the first year back; think Dejounte's tear where it took him two years to look like the guy we saw that preseason he tore it. And this would be rushing Kyrie back. If the Mavs gave a about him they'd shelve him until opening night of the 2026-27 season. I can't believe how much talk I hear of seeing Irving or even worse Tatum or Hali back next season.

Mavs are delusional if they think Flagg = Luka. Flagg will have to be a top 5 player in the NBA. There were times as a Mav Luke was a top 3. I think Flagg will be good, but I don't think he will ever be at Luka's level.

I think Flagg has top 5 potential. Of course Luka has been more like #2 or #3 in the league.

I agree. Next year and the year after are the sweet spot for the Mavs. Kyrie back from injury, before AD starts to decline and after Flagg gets a little seasoning.
