No. Moving away from Trump would be admitting they were terrible people for supporting such an awful person. Besides, the Republicans would rather die than vote for any other party, so it doesn't really matter what their opinion is of Trump.
"....The editor-at-large of Christianity Today magazine on Monday sharply condemned Donald Trump’s deranged post about the murders of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele.
Russell Moore, formerly the magazine’s editor in chief, called out Trump’s post blaming Reiner for the murders “through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.” Moore called Trump’s comments “vile, disgusting, and immoral behavior.”...
....
Moore resigned from the Southern Baptist Convention in 2021, after breaking with other evangelicals on Trump. He has criticized the rise of the Christian right, alarmed at the fact that some evangelicals think of Jesus Christ’s teachings as “liberal” and “weak.” To Moore, Trump’s behavior just shows increasing moral rot, especially from those of his supporters who call themselves Christian....."

hard to imagine the hardball, vice signaling politics of MAGA isn't already chipping away at it -- evangelical opinion is not a monolith but it is still solidly pro-Trump
seems like being white is another strong indicator of being pro-Trump

I like how they all have just looked the other way on Trump's racist and misogynistic comments but talking about Rob Reiner is where they draw the line.
I think Trump's obvious deterioration and his cratering popularity have something to do with it too. The man looks and sounds bad, his government looks more inept and out of touch by the day.
"....One of the questions I ask myself all the time is how so many white evangelical Christians can blindly support Donald Trump given that damn near everything he does goes against everything they supposedly stand for. Sure, they love the anti-LGBTQ bigotry and the anti-abortion cruelty and the right-wing judges, but at what cost. Is there anything—the Epstein files, the support of genocide, the way he terrorizes immigrants—that will break whatever spell he’s cast over them?
Here’s a perfect example of what I mean: Last week, the Trump administration illegally invaded Venezuela and proclaimed that it was now under U.S. control. For what reason? Who knows, though Trump himself has made it clear it’s about stealing that nation’s oil.....
....On Sunday, Nebraska preacher and self-proclaimed “prophet” Hank Kunneman told his followers at Lord of Hosts Church that God fully supported Trump’s Venezuelan takeover:
"They say you have seized Venezuela for the oil. Yes, this is true, that there is that which has been brought to the forefront of this earthly battle.
But the enemy has sought and was seeking to bring war and to bring conflict through Venezuela and to control the oil of the Earth. But the spiritual oil and the natural oil does not belong to the forces of darkness or to those who thought that they could bring a One World Order. This is my reset and the oil of the natural and the oil of the spirit is mine, says the Lord.
Therefore, I have said I will shake the Earth that the gold and silver is mine. And you will see through the natural oil that gold and silver. And there will be a revaluing of currency. And there will be a flow, not only of oil in the Earth, that will cause the pressure and cause that which has suppressed the people of nations.
I will lift it through the oil of the natural, but this is the work of the oil of my spirit, says the living God, that is destroying yokes and undoing heavy burdens through the oil of my spirit, and it will be seen in the signs of the natural oil and its refineries.
And I will do this, says the Lord, and watch as the prices of oil go down, down, down, down, down, and a… surge of acceleration shall come unto the economies of the Earth. But I speak to you, America, because you have cried out to me. I will show the Earth what a nation looks like when they have called on God to come, for blessed is the nation who the Lord is their God, and I will show the Earth!.."

Lol the mental and spiritual gymnastics these Trump s keep doing to validate their liberal hate
Billy Graham's pos son, Franklin:
"....called the capture of Maduro “incredible work” and praised Trump as a leader who “does what he says he’s going to do.”...."
"Mike Huckabee implied that Maduro’s fall disrupted an arm of Iran’s influence operating close to the U.S. border."
"Michael Youssef, an Egyptian-American Evangelical pastor and the founder of The Church of The Apostles in Atlanta, Georgia, wrote that Trump had “raised the hopes of millions of oppressed people everywhere in the world.”
"John Amanchukwu, a North Carolina-based Evangelical pastor, author and conservative activist, wrote on X, describing Maduro as “the Monster” and saying his capture had saved lives."
"Jack Graham, a Southern Baptist who is among Trump's spiritual advisors, praised the president for delivering “justice to the evil actors around the world” and described the operation as an example of “peace through strength.”

Invading countries around the world for their oil just as Jesus would have done
Why would anyone want evangelical chris s in their camp? They're some of the worst brainless sheeple on the planet. Better off trying to win over independent, atheist, secular thinkers like me who actually have a brain and aren't beholden to a cult. Yes, christianity is a cult.
Trump absolutely wants them in his camp because they make up a powerful voting base. He loves the stupid brainless bootlicks.
It never not blows me away just how many stupid people we have in this country.
meh, Trump/Vance can have them. They aren't the majority, they may be a "powerful" voting base in that they're high turnout for the presidential elections, but they typically don't vote hardly at all in midterms and special elections, which helps the other side.
Better to cater to a more intellectual demographic
Evangelicals will never vote anything but conservative. I'm just more fascinated with how they still keep justifying every destructive, inhumane move he makes, even today.
Lol today's Christians
"....WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, hosting his first monthly Christian worship service at the Pentagon since the Iran war began, prayed Wednesday to have “every round find its mark.”....
....“Let every round find its mark against the enemies of righteousness and our great nation,” Hegseth prayed during the livestreamed service. “Give them wisdom in every decision, endurance for the trial ahead, unbreakable unity, and overwhelming violence of action against those who deserve no mercy.”.....

It's what Jesus would do
I'm not sure that's typical beyond the 30% rump of Trumpism
Doug Wilson is crispy critters
I've got no true numbers but I feel like it's the vast majority of southern protestants that love them some violence in Jesus name.
I could be wrong, but it's my impression that the level of Trump support among evangelical Christians is over 40% but less than 50% on key metrics like morals
No surprise Hagee is all giddy and fired up about this war

There's this on immigration

I think it's important not to overstate Trump's level of popular support
It is near historical lows if you exclude Truman in 1952 (22%)
and people were freaked out by Jimmy Carter being born-again

it's been ~300 years since something like this happened, according to the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem
https://www.custodia.org/it/news/joi...the-holy-land/Holy City of JerusalemThis morning, the Israeli Police prevented the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Bea ude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Head of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land, together with the Custos of the Holy Land, the Most Reverend Fr. Francesco Ielpo, OFM, the official Guardian of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, as they made their way to celebrate the Palm Sunday Mass.
Palm Sunday, 29 March 2026
The two were stopped en route, while proceeding privately and without any characteristics of a procession or ceremonial act, and were compelled to turn back. As a result, and for the first time in centuries, the Heads of the Church were prevented from celebrating the Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
This incident is a grave precedent, and disregard the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem.
The Heads of the Churches have acted with full responsibility and, since the outset of the war, have complied with all imposed restrictions: public gatherings were cancelled, attendance was prohibited, and arrangements were made to broadcast the celebrations to hundreds of millions of faithful worldwide, who, during these days of Easter, turn their eyes to Jerusalem and to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Preventing the entry of the Cardinal and the Custos, who bear the highest ecclesiastical responsibility for the Catholic Church and the Holy Places, cons utes a manifestly unreasonable and grossly disproportionate measure.
This hasty and fundamentally flawed decision, tainted by improper considerations, represents an extreme departure from basic principles of reasonableness, freedom of worship, and respect for the Status Quo.
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land express their profound sorrow to the Christian faithful in the Holy Land and throughout the world that prayer on one of the most sacred days of the Christian calendar has thus been prevented.
might explain it
https://www.npr.org/2026/03/29/nx-s1...ar-palm-sunday"Brothers and sisters, this is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war," Leo said. "He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them."
Evangelicals hate Roman Catholics. Some will tell you they're the devil.
There have been Chrstians in the Levant, in Africa and South Asia for longer than there have been Protestants
, Christianity reached India before it reached Europe
Well sure, since it was Martin Luther that got the protestant ball rolling to get away from the Church in the 1500s.
The slight majority of Catholics I think will vote conservative for the foreseeable future because of abortion issues. I think the vast majority of evangelicals are extreme alt right and don't even realize it. Anecdotally speaking.
