I'm just gonna lay it out there. I'm going to be more honest than I ought to.
I HATE being a fan of the Mavericks. It absolutely ing blows.
The biggest mistake of my life was deciding that I liked the Mavericks and wanted to be a Mavs fan for life. An MFFL before MFFL existed.
Now I've got to watch this for 6 months a year.
My fondest memories are of teams that could barely win 20 games a season.
I hate basketball.
And the Suns.

Yes it sucks. Avery Johnson is just a horrible coach. Kidd of course is going to run out of gas if he has to guard Iverson the whole ing game.

As opposed to who? Who else on the Mavs roster can even think about guarding Iverson without getting embarrassed and lit up for 50 points?
Lue and Wright. Avery is just too brain dead to notice there are other options but he would rather run his starters into the ground.

I'll give you Lue because of that one series where he did a good job on AI, but no way Wright is guarding him. But putting Lue on AI is just too logical for Avery.
I can't jump on the Spurs bandwagon cuz I hate the Spurs. And it would be incredibly lame to jump ship from the Mavericks because I've loved them for so long.

You are absolutely right, this team sucks. No one can drive to the rim, no inside presence, the refs absolutely hate the mavericks, stern hates cuban, Dirk will probaly enter the hall of fame ringless, its just ing atrocious being a mavs fan.

I promise you, if I jump ship to the Spurs, they WILL get swept in the first round. I have THAT MUCH bad mojo built up right now.
I have the anti-Midas touch right now. Any team I root for WILL suffer embarrassing defeat and epic failure.
You don't want to be a bandwagoner. It's just too bad that rooting for the Mavericks is excruciating, whether they're good (blowing a 2-0 Finals lead, losing in the 1st round after winning 67) or bad (11 straight years w/o playoffs).
Well it would suck big time to wait 7 months before you can root for Dallas again. I'm going for the Celtics since I can't live without some team to root for that long.
Eh, I feel better when this team has no shot at winning a le, when there are no expectations and any success is just gravy. Maybe they never did have a chance to win a championship, but getting to the Finals and having one of the all-time great regular seasons would make you think otherwise.
Only question is, do I eat the failure pile now or when they are *officially* eliminated?
I'm not even mad or sad about what happened this season, I just want the Mavs taken out behind the house and put out of their misery with a shotgun. This team needs a mercy killing.
I feel sorry for those bas s. Also to have a former Spur running the team into the ground, m m m m that would sting. I still don't know what Mark Cuban was thinking when he hired a unproven coach to take over a top 5 NBA team with a huge upside when he could have hired an expierence coach.. I do know one thing, Avery is fired and Mavs fans can only dream of what could have been.I didn't think the Kidd trade as smart just beccause you gave away a big part of ur future. I had no clue it would make them worse this year. I mean those guys are going to miss the playoffs.
