I wonder if maybe the Spurs could get a PG from Seattle as well, either Ridnour http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3717 or earl watson http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3549

maybe a combo of Wilkins and Ridnour/Watson for Bonner and a pick or cash

there would have to probably be another player involved because Ridnour and Watson have semi large contracts

AFAIK, Griffin contract isn't guaranteed at all.
Trading him for a TE bring nothing to Seattle.

Spurs would just take back his contract and either buy him out or cut him and eat the salary.

Its not like the spurs to trade for a player then eat salary.

what are the odds of this:

    Sonics get: F Matt Bonner
    draft rights to F Splitter
    2008 2nd rounder (57)
    2009 2nd rounder
    cash considerations

    Spurs get: 2008 1st rounder (24)

The cash considerations will hold that one up.

that lands Seattle more salary and they want to cut not add.

I'd say the odds are close to zero. That proposal provides no value to the Sonics. In return for a first round pick they'd receive a total spare (Bonner), rights to a player who won't even be an option for at least another four years, two late 2nd round picks with little chance of making the team, and (if they're lucky) enough cash to purchase a full tank of gas for Kevin Durant's Hummer. In other words, they'd give up a first round pick and get a contract in return. Mmmmm, no.

Why would the Sonics want Finley, and why would Finley want to go to Seattle?

Not to mention Finley, after having been paid $20M the last coupla years by Mark Cuban and Peter Holt, may just have an inflated sense of his worth on the open market.

I doubt the contract Cuban gave him, has inflated his sense of self worth.
