If Bynum stays healthy and has a good season next year he will get a max contract. Your foolish if you think the Lakers are the only team who would offer him a max deal.

Why is an unproven 20 year old coming off knee surgery demanding the max? At least wait a year and pull off an all star caliber season before thinking you deserve max money. His agent is a knucklehead.
No his agent is just doing his job. Their jobs are to get as much money as humanly possible for their clients.
Making ridiculous demands only causes problems. He should just wait a year, get healthy and put together a solid season before going public with this.

Yup. Laker fans...The way LakerFans see him and talk about him...they should believe he deserves the Max.
This league is not about what your talent is worth. It's about what the market will pay you. It doesn't matter that Bynum's talent is not indicative of a max contract, that's not how this works. If he stays healthy and has a good year he will get offers for a max deal from more teams than just LA.

Well if Nene can get $10 million a year for six years after averaging 10 and 6, why wouldn't he ask for the max? Contracts nowadays have just as much to do with potential than they have with current production. Sure he's not worth the max, but I'd be looking for as much money as I could get too.

The only thing I dislike about this is the timing. Why does his agent feel the need to say this now? Why not wait until Bynum plays a full season and puts up good numbers? Then he'll have all the leverage in the world.
