Actually Viva is correct. I have no idea why I thought it was Albert Hall. Of course I don't really remember much of the last half of that concert anyway. I found the ticket and it was in fact Earls Court.

Good catch Viva... keep me straight!

Pink Floyd in 87, far and away my favorite concert(especially the one in Texas Stadium, because they played Shine on you Crazy Diamonds).

Saw them in Austin and then went a few days later to go see them in Dallas. Me and my buddies camped out at some camground in Dallas(and there aren't many of those). We took a bunch of stuff to barbecue, a bunch of weed, shrooms and a keg of beer(between 4 guys).

How good the show truly was I can't say, but about 5 grams of shrooms and about 3 quarts of beer will pretty much guarantee a good ing time...you might not be able to walk, and I don't think any of us could, I damn sure couldn't, but you will have a good time doing it.(and yes we took cabs to the show).

The show was awesome...sounded incredible, didn't bother any of us in the slightest that Roger Waters wasn't involved. He may have been the heart and soul of Floyd, but Gilmore was the sound and voice...and that was good enough.

PS: I don't advocate any kind of hard drug use(or alcohol consumption), or irresponsible partying as it can suck badly and quickly turn into one of the worst experiences of your life...but that time it didn't. That time it was bad azzzzzzzzz and every bit as fun as you always imagine that sort of thing will be when you are young, naive, idealistic and stupid, but never actually is.

That was a grand slam and I will never top that partying experience. It was the party of a lifetime and pretty much after that I quit heavy partying...I think somehow I knew it wouldn't get any better than that.

You know, the thing about these Zeppelin world tour rumors going around...is that even if they go on tour again, and even if they played a five hour show, there's still about 36 of my favorite Zep songs I wouldn't get to hear.

I don't think it will be the same without John Bonham anyway. I would have loved to have seen the original Zep, but I don't have much desire to see any reformed version.

#1. John Bonnam won't be there and he was important to their sound.

#2. Pink Floyd was old even when they were young, so when they got old they actually sounded better IMO, and their music has retained some relevance to me even as I have grown older...Led Zeppelin was all about youth and as I have grown older their music hasn't aged with me...plus, they can't play the same way as old men as they did as young men IMO. Page has never regained his pre-split up form, and Plant usually sounds like he's about to have a heart attack when he tries to sing any of Zep's old rockers. He couldn't pull it off back in his 40's, and I know he can't pull it off now. Meanwhile, Floyd reunited a couple of years ago and they sounded incredible...better than they did when they were young, and so did their music.

#3. When Page and Plant reunited a few years ago, it sucked IMO. Not only did the new stuff suck, but they sucked.

#4. I never saw Jimmy Page before Zep split up and he quit playing guitar for like 5 years or something...but I have seen him since, and he sucks live. And when I've seen him live on TV, he's sucked. Complete slop. In fact I haven't seen Jimmy Page not suck live since I knew who he was. He always did and still does sound amazing in the studio, but I wouldnt' spend money to see him play live again.

Nope...Zep is one reformed band I don't want to see. They truly won't sound the same....they truly won't be the same.

LMAO son ... Morrissey! are you kidding me? Morrissey is arguably the worst ing singer on this planet. he is a mix of opera and emo music. Did you go home and cut your arms and cry yourself to sleep after the concert like the rest of his die hard fans do?

    1) Roger Waters - Dark Side of the Moon Tour, 5/22/08 in Dallas. Obviously not quite as cool as seeing THE Floyd as a whole, but to experience my favorite songwriter perform my favorite album in its entirety was downright incredible. Tossing in Mother, Wish You Were Here, Greatest Days of Our Lives, and Comfortably Numb was just the icing on the cake. I have the actual concert on audio bootleg now, and still listen to it probably weekly. God bless the internet.

    2) Paul McCartney and Wings was a great show, too. I was pretty young and went with my parents, but I still have fond memories of Paul singing some great, great songs like Live and Let Die and Baby, You Can Drive My Car. His piano solo which ended up turning into a stadium-wide-sing-along to Hey Jude was one of the first really amazing experiences I can vividly remember.

    3) Lollapalooza 2003 - Had a friend end up with some extra tickets so this was one of those things that got sprung on me the day before. Great little festival at Verizon Amphitheatre on a beautiful day, got to take in Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, Audioslave, and Jane's Addiction fo' free. Incubus and Audioslave both rocked it out.

2008 Pearl Jam Bootlegs,My Morning Jacket and Radiohead for the most part...I've fallen into one of those music abysses where I have no clue about most new music. I'm going to Lollapalooza next weekend so maybe that will open my eyes to some new stuff.

    got any new good stuff?

Close second is Lagwagon at the Ventura Theatre on my birthday.

I also saw Rage Against the Machine at the Democratic National Convention in 2000. That was an interesting show because it was in the parking lot next to the Staples Center. There were riot police all over the place because of protestors.
