Considering she gave an interview on this subject more than two weeks ago, you can be sure she was vetted, and confidence is there this is just slander against her.

The simple fact is that William "Bill" Ayers is a highly-respected member of the community in Hyde Park and a Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Because of his credentials in the field of education, he's served in many civic organizations in Chicago. One of them was the Woods Fund of Chicago, a philanthropic organization devoted to poverty relief. The organization often has prominent people from the community (investment banks (USB), education, law firms, big oil (British Petroleum), etc.) serving on its 10 person board of directors. They meet quarterly (four times/year) to review and reward various grant applications for community projects.
It was in this context that Obama served with Bill Ayers on the board of directors from 1999 to 2002, when Obama left the organization.
