It could be maybe your wife gets a little anxious when she goes to the doctor's office and the blood pressure reading reads high, but when she goes to the hospital she is more relaxed. Who knows? The good thing is that she is okay.

I have enjoyed the past month with my newborn. He is something else. Its a lot of work, but fun at the same time. I hope everything turns out good for you and your wife. Keep us updated.
I was wondering when you were going to give us an update
I'm glad you are having lots of fun with Nathanael. (I hope I spelled that right)

Mine are 11 and 14, both delivered by C-section. I never had problems with high BP, but I didn't have gestational diabetes with both.

And about the lady ing b/c she was hungry....I went into labor early on the morning of my last dr appointment, so when I went in, he told me to go home and wait until the contractions were closing before going to the hospital and he told me not to eat anything. So I go to my sisters on the way home and she had just ordered a bunch of Chinese food and I got to sit there and watch everyone eat.

Then when we finally went to the hospital and got all set up in the room. My sisters and their hubbies come in to see me (I had a private room that had a sitting area in one half of the room) they brought in freaking Taco Cabana and ate it in the room while I crunched on ice chips.

I hadn't eaten since 7 pm on Wednesday and the baby was born at 9:35 am Friday. I was STARVING!!!

Seriously. I went into labor with my first at like 11:00am and hadn't eaten anything at that point ... then was too excited/nervous the rest of the day to eat anything until it was time to go to the hospital, then I get there and the doctor hooks me up with an epidural and breaks my water about 8:00pm, and then I'm in horrible agony until my daughter decided to make her appearance at 5:06 am the next day. And I was starving! A very dear friend of mine brought me the biggest, nastiest cheeseburger she could find at 5:00 in the morning.

Mine are 13 (on the 16th) and 15.5

Went into labor with son #1 around 5 a.m. and had him around 12:30 p.m. He would have come earlier, but he turned at the last minute.

Went into labor with son #2 at 7 a.m and had him by 10:30 a.m.

And thus ended my maternal urge to ever have another child

I had my first two naturally and had an epidural with the third... this may sound crazy, but I hated the epidural. The pain in my back from that needle was worse than any of the contractions. And I felt weak and sick and just "off" for days after. Natural is the way to go, IMHO.

, as soon as I got to the hospital, I asked for an epidural. As I've said before, I rank it right up there with air conditioning!

I wanted it for both of the first two, but couldn't get one for various reasons. Then when I did get it... it wasn't so hot.

I've been pregnant 5 times, had 4 babies in 5 yrs; have 3 living children ages 11, 12, and 14. Between all those pregnancies, I had every possible complication, endured months of bedrest, premature births, surgeries, etc. I've experienced the best and the absolute worst. So if you want to know how to cope with it all---just roll with it is all I can advise!

After sitting with Mrs. ASF all night, the nurse BEGGED me to go down to the cafeteria to get some breakfast. She promised me nothing would happen. I was 3 bites into some plain ass pancakes when the same nurse came sliding around the corner at full speed and said "Get back up there NOW!!!"

I don't have kids, nor do I particularly want to, but there's something very strange to me about how precisely everything is planned these days. Everyone I know that's had a child in the last five(ish) years has known the sex, picked a name, scheduled the induction -- I guess I can see how it would make sense in terms of preparation, but it seems weird to make an appointment to have a baby.

I hope none of them were named head or Abcde

I knew the sex, but never once did I think I was having girls. I just knew I would have boys before I had it confirmed.

My kids were both born within a day of their predicted due date. I wonder how often that happens.

That’s what people here at work said. I REALLY hope that that’s not the case though.

I never understood why people had to know the sex. I was always happy just having the sex.

    I. Hustle, the best of luck to you and Mommy-to-be Mrs. I. Hustle.

You're about to start a wonderful journey. In my experience the good, the incredible, the amazing, have always out-weighed the scary, loss-of-sleep, life altering changes that come with kids. Enjoy every second of it.
