GREAT GOOGLEY BOOGLEY!!
This thing has tropical storm force winds up to 550 miles wide.
The thing practically takes up the entire Gulf of Mexico.
I think you are vastly underestimating the amount of damage.

Its better. The track right now going SE>NW into Freeport is pretty much the worse possible track from my understanding.
Do you have a link to a beachcam?
Nah I was just watching the news.
Ahh, I found the KHOU live broadcast. You're right it's looking nasty!
KHOU
I live in Lufkin.... apparently we might get power outage.
alot of people from Houston and Beaumont and Port Arthur came to Lufkin for some reason... the city is packed.
There were some beautiful cloud formations when I left my house for work this morning ... and the sun was just starting to come up so the colors were beautiful, too. I wish I had a better camera than my phone ... I probably could have gotten some great pictures.
Too bad if felt all tropical outside to go with it.![]()
Already flooding in Galveston jeez louise!!
Coastal flooding happens a lot more than people realize. Its not that unusual. I mean its right next to the ocean lol
Oh I know, but it's not from the beach side, it's from the bay side. The surge is already creeping in.
Man, that whole island is going to go underwater. Will be nuts to see.
That's what they are saying on the news. I doubt you'll even see treetops, rooftops, etc. Man that's some sad stuff.
Galveston won't even see the worst surge. That will go into the communities on the west side of Galveston Bay: Kemah, Seabrook, La Porte, Baytown.
Jesus, don't have any WORK to do? Who is this guy Ike you keep talking about? Do I know him?
Galveston is going to be gone after this storm is done. There is flooding already.
Shouldn't YOU be working?? I work for family, I get a pass....YOU DON'T.
SHEYITT, HEB sent a Corporate Memo on WED letting us know that we didn't have to come in on Friday so that we would have time to prepare for the Hurricane. I wonder if store partners got that memo?
Why did I even come to work today?
To make that money, weddings are expensive!
Eh, I don't know about that.
Man, areas of Galveston already looking like NOLA.
Man, anyone staying on that island is out of their mind.
