Besides Frank is in the House of Representatives, not the Senate. He has ZERO to do with senate proceedings. I'll bet the senate is debating this issue starting tomorrow.
Before you liberals have a premature ejaculation over the Couric - Palin interview, I would suggest to do two things. Look at it from an unbiased viewpoint, and find out how much was edited out. I didn't see any bad moves on the part of Palin, but then you liberals expect different things than we conservativres. Don't you.
That last exchange posted could have been edited just like her last interview was. I's say it probably was.

Of course not -- when conservatives look bad, it's always because the big, bad liberal media ignores context and edits things to create that appearance; when liberals look bad, well, that's just liberals being liberals.
I've been saying it since Day 1. This lady is dumber than a sack of hammers. I'm sure she's intelligent in her own little way as all of us are. However, on issues concerning this country she doesn't have a clue. The only thing she's really good for is memorizing John McCain talking points like a robot. Ask her any kind of serious question or specifics and she'll immediately spit out a line that makes you look at her like....

I have been fair to btoh candidates. Ive tried my very best to look at things with no bias.
But lets be realsitic, please? For just a moment....please.
McCain is an older man. Humans dont live forever, especially those with pre-existing conditions. He gave everything short of his life in Vietnam, hes a patriot and a good politician.
With that said, there is a distinct possibility that Palin could become President. In other years the VP was less important, not this time.
Obama could be shot within two months of office. Very real possibility.
McCain could die in his sleep before inaguration. Very real possibility.
So the VP, from both sides is important, IMO.
Biden is a known quan y. Hes been around a looong time. Im still very interested to see his dexterity in a "debate" forum.
Palin is the wild card. Like it or not, she is being sheltered from the media. I dont like that. What is she hiding? Moreover, in her two interviews since her nomination, to put it mildly....she didnt do very well. BUT, interviews are interviews.
Its always been my opinion that you get a firm understanding of a candidates policy from their commercials and townhalls, etc.
You get a good understand of them personally from the "debates". You can rehearse in a mirror allllll week long in preparation for the debate, reciting the questions you will be asked, and repeating exactly what your speechwriter wrote.
But you will always have to go "off script" at some point. You have to. Because even though you know the next question and have a prepared answer beforehand, you dont know what the other candidate is going to say!
If they attack you on some issue and all you do is read the script verbatim, youre going to look awfully dumb and incompetent.
So, all in all, I know this entire process is a farce....but the "debates" are the only real chance to see the mental-flexibility of the candidates. Are they witty and intelligent? Do they have a temper when their policies are attacked (in my mind, as long as its your ideals being attacked and not you personally, you should remain cool and professional)? Are they no brighter than the speechwriter they hired?
All of these questions can be answered by dedicating the alloted time to do so. There is very little transparency in politics, IMO. We the People are sold an image and a few ideas. They pull on the issues they think are important to the majority of Americans, and run with that.
Only when theyre all on stage together do their flaws and humanity either show or fail to show.
If they find some half-cooked way of not having a VP debate, then my vote is sealed.
From the commentary and things I have read on her, becoming the Vice President of the United States of America requires you to be a known quan y. Especially when she'll be VP to the oldest President in history and just-so-happened to spend a good part of his adult life locked up as a POW.
If they find a way to blanket Palin until November, and the McCain ticket wins, I only hope and pray McCain lasts his entire term.

boy this thread is a stretch. They are trying to reschedule the Presidential Debate and because of time and Money the St. Louis Debate is obviously a "possibility". Per the story, the rescheduling was YTD not indefinately/ cancelled. You guys are such a joke.
My opinion is that they should reschedule the debate for Monday if the bailout is approved by tommorrow and keep the VP for Thursday.
