CBS poll has Biden the winner 46-21

He's got both the major instant reaction polls by fairly large margins.

Contrary to last time, however, the focus groups seem to be splitting to both parties.
    What about the undecideds?

To me Palin is like that person in debate club who memorizes 5 talking points before debate and then if you ask her anything she isn't prepared for, she just goes back to repeating one of the talking points she memorized - no matter the relevancy. The problem is that in reality you have to be able to think on your feet, answer real life questions and improvise. She has shown me no indication any time that I have heard her talk that she has the ability to do that.
she was a talking points machine at the start I give you that. That's exactly what I told a friend on the phone. However, after that Biden reminded me of why Washington has a 10% approval rate.

And, to me, Palin personifies a lot of the things that I dislike in "politicians." She just does it without the polish.

    What about the undecideds?
For the CBS poll 71% of undecides remain that way, 18% will now vote for Obama, and 11% will now vote for McCain based on this debate.

Thats all I got so far, but I'm hitting refresh like a crackhead on most of the blogs trying to find more.

Sarah Palin upstaged Joe Biden all the way, from her handshake and "Okay if I call you Joe?", from which she immediately smiled and scored a point when she saw the befuddled look on his face and immediately chalked up another point by his failure to respond with "Okay if I call you Mrs. Palin?"

Totally unlike Palin, Biden paid little or no attention to the American (and international) viewing public, rarely, rarely looking directly at the camera (us), painfully oblivious to the fact that his words were directed only to the moderator of the debate, thereby wasting precious TV time trying to convince the moderator of Obama's merit, despite the fact that she is already an Obama supporter.

Palin, on the other hand, gained huge amounts of points by cleverly taking every advantage of the visual technique of looking directly at the TV camera, upstaging Biden again and again by bringing herself, her face, voice, and smile, directly into our living rooms. It didn't matter how well or poorly she answered questions -- what we saw was a very earnest young woman who very likely will come through the back door (via the 25th Amendment) to become the Acting President of the United States via who looked directly at us when she spoke and voiced her opinions.

Too bad Joe. You flunked the Palin/Biden debate.

If you are making over $250k you are not worrying about your tax levels going back to what they were during the Clinton years. You'd much rather have a strong economy in which your investments are thriving, which would net you far more money than any tax cut would. The bottomline is your lifestyle will not change one iota if tax levels went back to what they were under the Clinton years.

My father makes well over $250k, there are so many tax loopholes for the rich it's ridiculous. I could go into this, but I'm positive he'd rather I not.

Final numbers from tonight's poll have yet to come in, but we do have some early results. (These numbers may change as more respondents complete the survey.) They suggest that once again more voters have responded favorably to the Democratic candidate.

Forty-six percent of the uncommitted voters surveyed say Democrat Joe Biden won the debate, compared to 21 percent for Republican Sarah Palin. Thirty-three percent said it was a tie.

Eighteen percent of previously uncommitted percent say they are now committed to the Obama-Biden ticket. Ten percent say they are now committed to McCain-Palin. Seventy-one percent are still uncommitted.

Both candidates improved their overall image tonight. Fifty-three percent of those surveyed say they now have a better impression of Biden. Five percent say they have a worse opinion of the Delaware senator, while 42 percent say they debate did not change their opinion.

Fifty-five percent say they now have a better opinion of Palin. Fourteen percent say they have a worse opinion, while 30 percent say their opinion hasn't changed.

After the debate, 66 percent see Palin as knowledgeable about important issues – up from 43 percent before the debate. But Biden still has the advantage on this – 98 percent saw him as knowledgeable after the debate. That figure was 79 percent before the debate.

We will have a full report on the poll later on. Uncommitted voters are those who don't yet know who they will vote for, or who have chosen a candidate but may still change their minds.
    http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/poli...in502163.shtml

I guess all those numbers are from undecideds.

The CNN Poll numbers are based on viewers of the debate, so its possible, just like in the last one, that there are more democrats than republicans which will obviously put a slant on the numbers. That being said, if you skew the numbers to account for that Biden will more than likely still retain a lead - and a sizeable one at that - because he's leading by such a large margin.

So you'd rather have someone with no experience?
I'd rather have someone that doesn't double talk and say they are for this when they are the epitome of not being it.
I'd rather be for someone who stands by what they say as well.
