Then give back the trophy.
you don't seem to understand that the won almost in spite of him in 99
Then give back the trophy.
did you mean to type that? do you know where you are?
oh ok i'll just give back the o'brien... yeah that's what i'll do... i'll just go into my imaginary trophy case and give back my imaginary o'brien. here nba you can have it because, well, aj in' blows!
i celebrated like every other spurs fan alive. of course! what are you a dumbass? oh yeah i forgot... you are.
LOL... it never even occurred to me that anyone would twist that into something racist. Maybe it's all the election year stuff going on? The whole KKK comment is ludicrous, but I'll definitely mention it at our next family gathering. For the record, my father was a university professor and one of the most even-handed men I've ever known. That pumpkin comment was something out of his childhood, and it just always made me laugh.
The troll doll comment was my own. And you need to be honest here. If you gave AJ a Don King hair-do, and then dyed it blue or pink, tell me he wouldn't look just like one of those stupid dolls.
Your last comment concerns me, unless it was just a lucky guess. It is supposed to be a secret that the 99 Larry O'brien Trophy is hidden away at my house, next to my time machine. I am, in fact, the only person in the world who could give back the trophy, or go back in time and make sure that AJ was never a Spur. The fact that I have done neither must tell you where my loyalties lie. The Spurs can keep their 99 Championship - AJ and all. But how did you know?
If you say anything like that again, I'll be forced to go back and become your daddy, and raise you to know better in the future.
no seriously...he's stopped acting like a prick. I even said that at his retirement. When the Spurs first signed AJ everyone pulled for him, especially after he got cut on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day...and especially after a year with Vinny D at PG, but as soon as he got that starting PG spot locked up he started copping a tude IMO...and it became harder for me to pull for him, especially after the 94-95 playoffs. Whether he had to do it to be successful or not...without a doubt he did not have the game to justify his tude.
But after seeing him get kicked around a bit and remember where he came from...a great deal of my anger went away. Still kinda irked by the jersey just on principle...but if he starts acting like a Spur again I'm willing to move on.
I think he'll be a great addition to the Spurs staff if he decides to stick around.
Something no one really mentioned last year...but you know, we missed PJ Carleisimo last year IMO. Wasn't why we lost in the playoffs, but our team did underperform. I think AJ could potentially be a championship difference as an assistant...his style works much better when he's not out on the court bricking 4th quarter J's from 10 out and he does know how to pick apart defenses.
Didn't agree with his jersey being retired, but I agree if he was added to the coaching staff that the coaching staff would be the best it ever has been.
So among the smack talk, I'm assuming this "Avery to SA" was all bull huh?
Has anyone heard anything else? ANYTHING CONCRETE.
