    I am a boss.

It would piss me off that Obama, an applicant with relatively NO experience, TOLD me he got great grades, but wouldn't produce a transcript.

That said, I've never asked for a transcript from a job applicant. I could care less what kind of grades they have. I look at their job history, their accomplishments on the job, and I try to judge their character through a series of interviews (almost impossible - I've hired a couple of people who were great interviewees, but no so good employees; unless, of course I'm hiring a sales person; then the interview is about the only thing that matters - if they can sell themself, they can sell just about anything.

There is almost NO way, in my company, that two people, with such vastly different resumes, would be considered for the same position. McCain would be interviewing for CEO/Obama for a VP, or manager's spot - not gonna give keys to MY company to someone who is not proven AT ALL. Too risky.

BTW; Ex-military generally make fantastic employees.
So what job would you look at Palin for?

Either way, I'd have to hire an incompetent person.

i think they get upset when you try to take their money and give it away...cowboy up and get it done
How much money do you make? I'd like to see a percentage of people on this board that talk about getting their money taken away, that make over 200k.

Now I know why so many college grads can't get a job.
I don't think he said he wouldn't hire a recent college grad, he just wouldn't make them the CEO.

That's not an outlandish position to hold.

    Let's say Obama:

Went to the Navy Academy and graduated 894 out of 899.

Left his first wife because she had an accident was crippled.

Had a wife that was addicted to pain killers and got people to write illegal rx's for her.

Was a member of the Keating-5

    Would you vote for him?

I'd approve of Obama leaving his first wife and trading up for a blonde

I agree with this to a point. I've worked with a lot of ex-military employees that were not very productive.

It was usually because they were either too old and set in their military ways or spent too much time in they couldn't separate the civilian life from military life.

    Easy, cowboy.

Most of our positions (except mine) require attention to detail; not thinking it's her strong-suit, frankly. Her and her husband, apparently, couldn't make a go of it in retail - so her business sense wouldn't impress me. Salesperson, probably - might make an O.K. manager; but my business is 30 employees; not big enough to have managers that don't also get involved in ACTUALLY doing the jobs that the people in their departments are doing - I'm, frankly, the only one who has time to do crap like post on message boards during the day.

Nah, after thinking it through; salesperson is it - probably be good at it; and in most industries, make a of a lot more than she does as governor.

Haven't had a military lifer or retiree on staff; usually guys, like I suspect Chalupa is, who were enlisted, did their time, might have re-upped once - dude's work hard, get the job done, and ask for more. They are also more creative in their problem solving than conventional wisdom would suggest (of course, we are talking about a sample size of TWO here).

These are the same people that elected Bush for his vast military knowledge. More proof how many repugs there are that will back anyone regardless.

I challenge you to find a single post from ANYONE on this board that made that argument.

That's what I'm saying; don't know why he said anyone thought otherwise.

(Bush did fly Jets in the guard, however - that is "some" experience) - and, yes, I know why he was in the guard; no one needs to post it.
