I'm glad that you admit that your vote has nothing to do with how the country will be run, and everything to do with issues that will never be addressed.
I don't want to divide anyone, Keith and I am not Partisan nor am I pro / anti American guys. There are three issues that matter to me and are the foundation of why I vote conservative. 1. Right to life 2. Right to bear arms 3. National Security (including maintaining our soveriegn status).
That is it.
If he turns out to be another Clinton ? I reckon that means you think Clinton was great.
Dodd should be in prison - along with Barney Franks, Charlie Rangel - Kennedy for murder or at the lease negligence (allegedly).
I'm glad that you admit that your vote has nothing to do with how the country will be run, and everything to do with issues that will never be addressed.
Not necessarily. He was just the last Democrat President that got reelected. My point was that Obama could also seek and obtain reelection, depending on how he does. Now, I understand you think he will suck, but what if he doesn't, and what if he's reelected? What if the 'swing' you seek for in 4 years doesn't happen? What are you gonna do then?
This is obviously all hypothetical, since Obama is not the President at this point.
How the country will be run has more to do with Congress than with that guy in the white house.
I thinik this will be a VERY difficult 4 years for whoever gets in and if he insists on pursuing all of his "promises" then our country will be in worse shape than it is now. You know - especially since Biden promised a major test within what -- 6 months ? .. If he gets re-elected or not - my focus for the next 8 years will be on local elections and congress. Nobody should be allowed to go unchecked or have a super majority.
Tell me, why are you concerned about this "guy"? Do you have feelings for him?
So what exactly is your President going to do for your gun control and abortion?
well "that guy" was not referring to anyone in particular - it was general - as in non-specific because it doesn't matter who "that guy" is except for when it comes to which justices he appoints to the supreme court and should he decide to push a button.
which President ? and it will depend on which justices he appoints.
and of course the 3rd point I stressed - National Security would encompass how any president dictates to run the country as a citizen of the world etc..
I see.
What is it about "pushing buttons" that interests you?
Pick one. Are you saying we've never had a president that opposed abortion? What did that president do about abortion?
So, I'm selling typewriters for IBM (I know, right) in 1990, trying to close a deal in Madisonville, Texas; sitting the mayors office. He and I get into a political discussion, and when he surmises that I lean a little right in my politics, he begins to open up. Being the shrewd (and frankly, hungry) salesperson I was, I go right along, enjoying the banter.
Anyway, we continue along until he decides to let me in on the reason the country has declined so far; the basic problem with EVERYTHING that is going on that is not good:
D E S E G R E G A T I O N!
I had know the dude for maybe 30 minutes, and being a fellow whitey, he had NO problem, the MAYOR of the city no less, sharing this insight with me.
All of Texas, IMO is no more racist than most of the country; in fact, the valley, SA, and central Texas are LESS racist than my current stomping grounds in Western Pa - Murtha is right; but he should have kept his mouth shut.
EAST Texas, however, is damned racist. Where the do you think all the plantation owners from La and Ms ran during the civil war?
so all those plantation owners from the civil war ran to Texas and now their descendants are all racists too because they are related hundreds of years ago ?
If Murtha gets re-elected then PA deserves him and it will truly reflect the ignorance of those people.
Oh, thatd be a great ing strategy there, Mr Strategist. And how, exactly, do you propse bringing the topic up of "black liberation theology" without alienating ALL black people from ever voting from you?
Youre a genius. Youre shortsighted enough to think 15% of the American population means nothing in a general election. How, pray tell, does McCain (an old white guy) bring up something negative about Obama that has anything to do with black idealogues without alienating black voters?
Please tell, genius.
you are stupid enough to think he was going to get any of that vote anyway.
Yet, you dont think there would be white people that wouldnt be turned off by such rhetoric?
Keep going.
Racism is very unpopular...except among racists. Thankfully, the majority of racists are very old people who will sooner be in the ground than voting in 2016.
and the black liberation theology isn't racism ? McCain pointing out that theology is racist -- does not make him a racist ? Re .
Oh I agree....but exactly how do you think him bringing it up would be interpreted?
Annnnd, if he used it as a major campaign topic, he would have to repeat such claims ad nauseum.
He'd be banking his entire campaign on interpretation.....an interpretation of a old white man making claims that this young black man over there is a black radical.
Yeah....and you wonder why it hasnt been brought up by anyone in the McCain camp yet. If someone did, it would be called sabotage.
"Hundreds" of years ago?
Where'd you take history?
Or Math for that matter?
East Texas IS the most racist part of the country I have ever experienced; at least it was 15 years ago.
Murtha is in the fight of his political life right now; I live, literally, two blocks from his district; wish I could vote for his opponent.
Saw the first Murtha ad attacking his opponent this morning. Tried to tie the guy to Bush; dude has NEVER met George Bush; I figure Murtha will squeak by, but we'll see.
oh sorry -- 2 centuries ago - being that it ended in 1865.. sorry.
East Texas ? Clearly you have never been to Cour d' elane, Idaho ...or to Oak Cliff in Dallas for that matter....
Yeah, Lee Harveys is a real hotbed for the black supremacist movement.
I know we don't go down into the cliff after 5 for a darn good reason. My boys won't even let me go down to the cliff after dark
That's because living in Southlake you're not used to seeing so many black people.
haha -- I grew up in San Antonio - Live Oak to be exact. Went to Judson and then played basketball in Idaho and Utah for a year before coming here to North Texas.
Yeah my life is really comfortable. My parents who I was living with until recently lost our home to foreclosure in March. I'm currently ten thousand dollars in debt in my first year at UTSA. Yeah it's a really comfortable life.
Give me a break. I'm humble to know that even with all that ....a foreclosed house and being buried in debt, I know I have it good. In fact I have it great. And I never about any taxes I have to pay. You would think someone who can afford to pay 46 thousand dollars to the government in 1 ing year could be the same way.
Like I said maybe he phrased it wrong and he meant to say something else. But if he's making enough money where he has to pay 46 grand in taxes a year...he has no right to complain about getting the "bad deal"
