Yikes, Batum had more blocked shots than the Spurs team.
fin just missed. He's hit slot of clutch shots for this team in the past. That being said you have to make that shot. Things that I loved was the offensive execution and the crunch time defense. They made slot of stops when it counted. Mason is a flat out stud though.
Yikes, Batum had more blocked shots than the Spurs team.
13-5 offensive rebound advantage by the blazers. also a 6-14 turnover advantage. need oberto back.
Get over it. Finley had a "bunny" and missed it. Mason played great tonight.
Man, I hope Hill is a good player. If he's a bust, I'm going to be sick for a long time.
Didn't you listen to Buddy Holly? He is SOOOO injured...
How is Hairston getting mentioned? Pop is going with offensive players right now. Hairston wouldn't have gotten a minute.
Hairston right now is a less offensively talented version of a fatter Udoka.
I think a layup is generally a higher percentage shot than even a short jumper. And even if he didn't make the shot, Mason could've easily drawn the foul.
Again, I think he's deferring to his elder team-mates. It's smart. It's diplomatic. But at some point, Pop will let him know that he can look for his own shot. And Pop will let the team know that too.
No one needs to look at this as 0-2. We need to look at it as Mason is a stud and he will be taking Fin's minutes when Manu gets back. He will be our 4th scorer we have been looking for. Then maybe we can cut Farmer and add another big. Preferably someone who can...oh...I don't know....rebound?
Man I LOVE MASON. I didn't get to see the play cause my video feed crapped out. So it was not like the last game where Mason should have taken the shot?
I didn't think we should have been in a position to win the game to begin with. If not for the rain of treys in the fourth, we would have lost by ten. It was a good effort, and all you can ask is to have a chance to win the game at the end. We did and missed. Now we gotta get ready for Dallas on Tuesday.
It's silly to argue about the last play. If Finley makes that wide open jumper, we would be talking what a great pass he made. He gave a chance to Fin to win it and Fin couldn't get it done.
That's a shot Finley always makes. Smart choice to pass by Mason, would have gotten blocked by Pryzbilla IMO. I liked how we fought down the stretch. The Spurs have performed well for having 2 proven key players and 2 unproven, yet anticipated players injured.
Thank you!
Farmer >>>>> Hariston
We need people who can put the ball in the hole right now.
Still kinda stunned the Spurs managed to shoot 56% with the current roster
Even more stunned the Spurs shot 56% and lost (rebounding killed us)
Nice work to come back from behind in the 4th quarter.
However, I strong pledge Pop to let the young guys e.g. Hill, Mahinmi (when they recover from injury) play more at least quarters 1-3 to bring about much-needed athleticism. There's nothing to lose : you fear the young guys make mistake, but in this game, the turnovers are still there with the veterans.
Don't know how much of a better look you would have had after a timeout vs. the one Finley had. He should have made the shot. That said - I'm supremely happy with Mason so far. We have a lot to look forward in him and I also like Udoka's progression. Everyone can be down on the Spurs, but there's a lot of potential for a team that most are already writing off. By the way, the comparison between the fakers win over this one is null given Roy's terrific game tonight and his horrible game against them.
I made up his injury? I made up Pop's overly cautious nature? I did that?
Agreed...
With the way the refs were letting the teams play around the basket, Mason wasn't going to get that call. Przybilla is a damn good shot blocker and Mason isn't exactly a great finisher around the rim. Finley on an open five footer is a shot he hits about 80% of the time.
If that's Manu or Parker going down the middle of the floor, then yeah I want them going all the way to the rim. Mason? Not so much.
Can we trade Finley+Bonner+Vaughn?
Of course, you are going to ask : " ummm....for who ? "
Well, I don't care if get the 257th pick of the 2025 draft in return, because if we can get rid of them, Pop won't play them
But with "upside". Which doesn't mean right now.
Mason is definitely the though. I know he is averaging 30 minutes a night, but I want him getting that when Manu comes back as well.
Plus, I'm secretly glad that the Spurs have 3 days off, gives Tim time to recover from a 40 min game.
I can promise you on my life the refs would not have called the foul no matter how much contact Mason would've drawn.
Refs almost always swallow their whistles when there is less than 10 seconds in the game. Maybe Dwyane Wade gets that call, but not Roger Mason.
Yeah. Useless pieces of s...asha often start on NBA Championship AND gold medal teams. No one is saying he's an all-star, but he's a decent roll-player and another big would have been very helpful tonight.
Go Phil your little Jackson.
I didn't get to see the play . AS I said no one replied back and ing corrected me when I asked what happened because my video feed cut out and came back with Finley missing the jumper. I made an assumption that Mason passed up a good shot again.
Well I hate to say it but we need to overhaul our defense now or just tank the season. We are not blocking shots, its easier to score on us than on a drunk Paris Hilton, and WTF is up with our rotations and rebounding?
I have high hope for Ian and we look like we can score with anyone, but D is our calling card so unless we are going to become like Dallas we need to fix the D or we are an 8th seed!
Hairston's getting mentioned because Pop thinks he's Paul Westhead. Hairston clearly wouldn't have gotten a minute; Pop doesn't even think he should have made the team. The fact remains that he'd have been a lot more help in this game than Farmer was.
