Can We PLEASE Replace Mike Taylor Already?

Chris and Jason I can tolerate because at least they talk about other sports besides the Dallas Cowboys. Plus they have good guest that come on the show at times.

Their show is built on either a love or hate mentality. Their core audience freaking loves them, and there are some people, like posted above, that hate it.

Come on now Pete, let's be real. The core audience that "loves" them are the same type of dudes who were loyal listeners to the previous regime. It's not the host of the show that they dig, it's the want to participate in our local sports talk radio. I almost fell into that. I listen daily to the show and participate in the live blog, but as time passes the show becomes more and more unlistenable. He sounds like he's a wanna be Rome, with his little lingo and the fact that he just babbles for three hours instead of taking listener participation.

I got pissed the other day when, on a Monday after the Spurs got thrashed by the Heat, he starts the show with Longhorn talk (cause the Cowboys were on a bye week). That's ing bull .

This weekend the Spurs won two games that came down to the last second shot, but I already know that it'll be 3 hours of Cowboys kiss ass. and they'll probably spend about 10 minutes at the ass end of the show to mention the Spurs.

And it looks like those assholes have blocked me from their email. Looks like word got back to them that I started this thread and now their ting on me. Fine. 'em. I'll just sit back and wait for Mike to up and get fired.

Mike doesn't have the time or really care about ST it's his producer Jim Bob that posts here and he reports to Mike what the boards are saying just do a search on Gogatos read his posts.

Yo Rodz....I doubt that was the case. Surely, they didn't block email. If they did, send it to me at [email protected] and I'll read it on air, and give credit.

Anyways, what people say on a board, is sometimes a good temperature gauge on what people really think, sometimes it's just a pile on mentality because no one has to own up to their forum comments.

Honestly, I like how Tigerrant.com does it.
They keep a running tab of one of their radio shows, and it's a topic/thread about the show.

It's a running tab on the show. It allows posters instant feedback on the show. As long as the posters do it in a constructive way.

Saying that a show sucks, is your opinion, but that's like an asshole, everyone has one.
The truth is, a program director is not going to make a decision on personnel at the station based on what a poster says.

But I will tell you this, and I know it first hand from an experience lately, if a poster brings up good constructive criticism, a program director takes a look at it, and helps try to mold the show. Which is a good thing

You think I don't know that? I post here because this is the ONLY outlet to vent my frustration with the show. I've talked about it on the live blog but no one really cares there. I've emailed Mike about it too and gotten no response. And as you can see, I'm not the only one who feels this way.

BTW: As far as the block email thing goes, I brought it up to Dingus during the live blog and he swore that no one was blocking my email. Then I got a reply email from Jim Bob saying and I quote, " Dude... proof that I didn't block you from my damn email. You sent this yesterday." And to their credit, they did get to the topic I sent them: Which was the Brent Barry comments about Bruce Bowen.

I have to agree, I mentioned that Andy Everett and Peter Burns would make a great show and it was maybe 2 months later they had a show, although Peter never gave me my props, which is cool since i may have to take back what i said anyway.

LOL personally i like the Cowboys talk ...to a certain point although he does cross-over to ofar in to blatant Cowboys ass-sucking.
To be fair ESPN etc still show Cowboys even though we suck this year ...but I think there are some valid points/criticisms made here ...nothing wrong with covering Cowboys as long as Spur fans and basketball in general get some love ...also he always says he will let callers talk but too many of these guys Coweherd, Rome Taylor etc rather hear themselves talk than let the listeners vent that is the most CONSTRUCTIVE feedback that can be given let the callers drive the show if Cowboy fans push the show towards football cover that if it's basketball then do that ...trust me as relo San-Antonian if teh fans were running things it would be cover sports in this order 1. Spurs 2. 'Boys 3. Longhorns 4. Lakers (so many LA transplants now in SA) 5.guy talk

I've liked Taylor's show so far, but being a big time Cowboys homer probably has something to do with that. He has Mickey on every week, T. Newman on weekly, so it's great to get an up close look at what's going on with the Cowboys (also enjoy Wade on the am show, although he's not the most stimulating guy to listen to).

My only gripe with Taylor's show is that they get too caught up at times with talking to each other and not talking with listeners, also knowledge about UT sports is fairly limited. Overall I would give them about a 8.6 on a scale of 1-10.
