even against "good" teams like the Hawks/Suns
I complimented them after the Suns victory, you must have selective reading habits.

WTF kinda of play did Carlisle run that had Dirk running to the top of the key for a shot with 1.1...put him on the block clear everyone else out and allow him to catch and shot. much better than a stupid ass fadeaway 3

Quit being vague. Be specific. The Mavs have had some troublesome tendencies for years now, such as no low post scoring and an ominous propensity for blowing large leads... what did you see tonight that we've seen in the past? I saw two teams play a great team, one just made a few more plays than the other. A coin flip game that could've gone either way with a few lucky bounces, the Mavs just didn't get them.

If you're gonna about EVERY SINGLE Mavs loss, why are you a fan of the Mavs? I'd rather be the "blind homer" as you put it than the guy that says "I told you so" everytime the Mavs underperform.

Spurs were playing pretty tough defense on him.

It's amazing how inbounding the ball is damn near impossible for the Mavs due to all the defensive pressure, but when it's the other way around, the other team looks like they're in the middle of a light practice session trying to get the ball in against Dallas.

The only problem I have with Dirk tonight is not trying to get to the FT line later in the game.

Other than that, I'm not going to rag on the guy after shouldering the load the whole game. Also, he is who he is. Either the Mavs get him some all-star level help by swindling another team with JHo or time to trade him.

Mavs are playing better, but if you're counting on the consistent production of Jason terry and Midget, you know the team is nothing but a 1st round loser, if they even make the playoffs. But continue with the moral victories...

so true, other teams always get to execute their plays and get what they want....for us it like pulling teeth just trying to inboud the ball and once that happens, everyone freezes up

Mason was a great pickup. And TD is still TD, best in the league. Erica's asshole hurts tonight.

To bring some balance and reason to all the masturbatory congratulations being passed out about "how hard they fought" and how "they played great" every ing time they lose.

^ and that's why Howard is good for the team. He can pick up slack in case those two have off nights.

And some like mono say we're better without Howard. Fine, trade him for another piece then. Then you become less reliant on Terry/Barea by default. Those two have picked it up because of Howard's injury.

I didn't congratulate the Mavs and didn't make mention of their effort, but it's undeniable that they played a really good game tonight, just fell short. It happens.

There aren't even any Mavs homers on this board as you put it. I haven't seen one Mavs fan on here consider the Mavs a legitimate le contender. Some of us are just more optimistic than others and interpret losses and wins differently.

ditto. take care of business against the weak , then show me something against a good team. And maybe don't almost blow a 17 point lead in about 20 seconds this time.

it's absolutely deniable. they lost at home in close to the exact same way they lose every game against a good team. And if Josh Howard played, it wouldn't even have gone to one overtime, the Spurs would have wrapped that victory up with 2 mintues to go in the fourth.

I love how you make those predictions as if you have any evidence to support the claim. What are you, Nostradamus?

The exact same way they lose EVERY game agianst a good team? We
just beat the Suns and Hawks... we beat the Rockets/Spurs earlier this year.

You would've ed about this game if the Mavs lost by 1 on a halfcourt buzzer beater. You are just a whiner.

And you could have given them a pat on the back for trying really hard.

I already said the Suns victory was a good win, and the Hawks win was going to be the same thing until they decided to quit playing with 4 minutes to go.

I honestly thought the Mavs played pretty good. I'm very proud of this win because the Mavs have been doing very well lately. In the first meeting, it was pretty much who sucked less (the Mavs) because both teams were struggling. In this meeting, it was who played better (the Spurs). Both teams have been doing well as of late, more so the Mavs because they had a longer winning streak. Really good game, I spent a lot of time yelling at the tv screen

I'd really love it if the current era of Mavs-Spurs had one more epic playoff series in them before Duncan/Dirk/etc get old and retire.

If by epic, you mean the Mavs going up 3-1 and the Spurs fighting back to barely lose a Game 7 in OT at home, I think I will pass

Like I said, we weren't going 74-8. I'd rather lose a 2OT game to the SPurs than get blown out by say... the Grizzlies... but that's just me.

and I'll pass on the Mavs looking like they're going to push it to a Game 7 and get Dirk back, only for Steve freakin Kerr to take a dump all over that dream.
