I agree. Duncan started off pretty bad but he was a big part of the spurs run that brought them back. His defense against howard was okay but his help defense was really bad.
Tim was't great but he didn't suck.
19pts 7-17 FG 5-6 FT
9 reb
3 assist
Playing against Howard (who was only 6-12)in a back to back game.

I don't agree with those saying Spurs showed lack of effort. Ginobili was trying hard. Parker's outside shot was off and Nelson was literally playing about ten feet off of him. When he couldn't hit a shot he started hesitating and his game fell apart. Duncan ran the court hard and contested almost all of Howard's looks.
The game came down to the Big Three shooting 5-for-24 in the first half. The Spurs have better scoring role players but if the Big Three lay that big of an egg, the Spurs aren't going to win.
timmy is sucked by his facial expression!!
True.
But it's not easy to do help defense when you have to guard Howard and you are in a back to back game at 32.
3-for-17 from the field tonight. 4 assists on 4 turnovers.
And I swear for a point guard who takes a lot of jumpers he has an INEFFICIENT shooting form.
He's not even the best scoring point guard in the NBA anymore; that le belongs to Harris.
WTH.![]()
Pop needs to play Duncan with Kurt Thomas more.
Our newly-found depth is now being forgotten. Now it's just the big three in isolation plays, forcing up bad shots and making bad passes.
I would like to see more Hill, Mason, Bonner, and anyone else who takes a shot in rhythm. And that's just on offense: defensive rotations were crap too.
So TP had an off night... happens...he'll be back to form next game.
TD dont sucks, Manu is still in "safe mode" but Parker still cant create team play and wen TP is not making his shots he is useless.
Excellent observation. It seems to me that we're not using our new assets to the full advantage.
Isn't this what the regular season is for?
udoka, hill, mason, thomas and even vaughn should have gotten more minutes so the others could rest since they were tired and playing bad anyways why not let them get more playing time
I'm not really concerned about the Hornets loss or tonight's Orlando loss. Those teams just made their shots. We had some pretty good looks at the basket. Sometimes the shots just don't fall. Tonight they didn't. Again, New Orleans and Orlando didn't really do anything impressive. Those two games were more of Spurs losses than Hornets or Magic wins. That was some pretty good shooting by someone named Jameer Nelson tonight though. Never heard of that guy until tonight.
If your PG sucks and the opposite PG shines then it's difficult to win. That's true.PG is the leader of the team.
But we were down by 20 and it wasnt only Tony's fault
They fought hard. The only play I really didn't like was towards the end when Tim and Tony stayed in the backcourt to complain a call. Manu ended up fouling the layup attempt, but at least he got back on defense.
Yeah you know its not your night at all 2 nights in a row when 1 night David West hits 2 straight three pointers to steal the game, AND the next night a no-namer in Jameer Nelson who has been nowhere and on the trading block all season goes off on u. happens.
at least you're optimistic...
Wow, it's ing pathetic all the women posters are realistic and logical, but almost all the guys on here are run around like headless chickens half the time.
The Spurs were def gassed, I'm glad they at least fought back into it. Just wish Hill and Mason could get a constant 8-11 shots a game each, and Pop started Bowen for a change, I'm tired of seeing Fin in for more than 20 minutes, which is all he should get if he can't contribute significantly.
The Spurs need to stop shooting themselves in the foot offensively. Both of these games seemed winnable.
I love you, Kori. You crack me up.
After his bad performance the night before, I didn't think Bonner got down on himself or completely folded. He didn't play great but made a few shots. His shot selection was a bit forced at times, but it seemed like he was trying to have a good game.
Not that it mattered in the whole scheme of things for the game tonight, but I think Bonner's overall progress is still in the positive direction. I'll take a little solace in that.
Mason's lack of purpose and Tony's reduced level of defense are not the reasons we lost tonight per se, but are small factors that continue to present themselves over the last few games. I have complete faith Tony can turn it back on.
For Mason, he probably should get more minutes, but in addition to that, while he's on the court he should get a share of the time on the ball as well. Mason shooting a jumper at the top of the key off a pick and roll is perhaps a better shot than Tony doing the same. Hopefully, Pop can see what Mason's strengths are (as well as Bonner's) and maximize them.
Mason seems slightly better when he's shooting off a few dribbles as compared to waiting in the corner. Bruce is good with that but I don't think it's the same for Mason.
Anyway, just random thoughts.
Why is it pathetic that the women posters are realistic and logical?
Explain that please kid.
STFU short bus.
Why don't you shut the up?
Are you saying we don't need another big?
Maybe getting Horry back is going too far, but if there is not better option out there why not consider it?
