Kobe is a guard. The NBA is a big man's game. Duncan in the low post.

Duncan is as good as ever. He got a triple-double in his last playoff game and has an amazing streak of 9 straight playoff games with at least 14 rebounds.

It's LeBron, and it's not even close. LeBron can still dominate a game when his jumper isn't falling and he isn't scoring. Can Kobe do the same?

What does that have to do with whose the current best?

    It's clearly Lebron.

Duncan's reign at the top is over

will he be remembered as probably the best pf to play the game?
    Probably.
But like I said he's not even top 3, let alone #1.

    I have it like this:

    1: Bron
    2: Duncan
    3: Kobe
    4: Wade

Those guys are 1's, or Franchise Guys

Then there's the 1.5s, the guys that are clearly better than #2 Robins, but probably not fully-fledged Batmen, in no particular order:

KG, Dirk, CP3 (he'll be a #1 before all is said and done if he's not there now), Pierce, Deron when he's healthy, etc...

bron is playing an amazing ball at a very high level. i think he's the best player ATM, but i would take kobe's skill set any day of the week.

as a spurs fan, ive seen waaaayy too many games dominated by kobe.

my memory of lebron is how we swept his cavaliers and held him to 30% shooting in the finals.

lebron's day would come, but right now kobe is king among perimeter players.

    who is the best?
Neither. If anyone, Wade. Neither one of the other two has won a championship for 7 years.

I honestly do not think it matters.

I know this great start is good and all for both, but Lebron needs to start winning rings to solidfy a great legacy. And if Kobe can't win with Pau and line up he has now, Shaq will have on him forever.

And just for my opinion, I actually think Shaq was a more dominant player in his prime than both Kobe and Lebroom.

Kobe showed the world that he is the best player in the NBA. He showed it in the Olympics when all of the other great players in the league were doing a choke job. Wade has to be included in that list as well. Lebron will eventually get there but he is not there now.

Duncan is a great player and one of the best of all time at PF. The best? I don't think so but that is my opinion.

And when that moment comes, Kobe rises up and carries the team to a gold medal while LeBron and Wade enjoy the ride.

Kobe is still the best in the game.
Where was that rising up in the Finals last year? Where was he when his team needed him the most against the Celtics? Where was he when his team blew a 20+ point lead? He was completely non-existent, sitting around jacking up fade-aways and threes, looking like he didn't know what the he was doing there.

What he did through that entire series COMPLETELY overrides ONE nice performance with a better squad against lesser compe ion.

I like Kobe more. This is the first year I'd say LeBron is better, mainly because his defense has improved.
    His free throw shooting too.

One thing holding me back on Lebron is just his whack jumper. If he improves it i will go out on a limb and say he would shoot over 50%
He is shooting a smidge under 50%, something Kobe has never even come close to doing, while Lebron shoots near 50% on a yearly basis. Lebron (aside from his rookie year where he shot 41%) has never shot below 47%. Kobe has never shot about 46%.

Shaq was the most dominant player ever. When he was in his prime, no one could touch him.

These are serious questions for not just you but everybody because I think it would be interesting to see how people would answer it.

If Duncan were on the same team as Kobe or as LeBron James, would it be Duncan's team or Kobe's/LeBron's team? Would the offense run through Duncan or Kobe/LeBron. In the fourth quarter, who would be the main go-to guy, Duncan or Kobe/LeBron?

Just food for thought. No right or wrong answer. Just wondering what people think.
Bron and Kobe is the #1 option, no question about it.

of course you will have some dumbass spurs fans that will say its because duncan is so unselfish that he will allow them to be the #1 option or something re ed like that.

Not necessarily true because while Kobe had more talent on his Olympic team, Manu didn't beat the best the United States had to offer. If Kobe were on that 2004 Olympic team with Iverson and Duncan, does Argentina still win the gold?
    Good food for thought.

Michael Jordan would kick their asses even today.
While hes the better player, its not like he would completely dominate them. And honestly, I think Lebron would be a nightmare matchup for Jordan. Physically, Lebron is far superior to Jordan. Jordan i think could handle Kobe, but not Lebron. I hate it when people say Jordan would absolultely beat the pants off Kobe and crap like that. Its like this... If Jordan scores 30, Kobe is probably going to score 28. Jordan is better, but head to head, hes not going to dominate the way some of his knobslobbers think.

Duncan is the best player and Lebron is a close second. Lebron has youth, but Duncan is more valuable, as a low post threat (rare in the NBA) and much better on D. Duncan is also the best pick setter in basketball, just ask Parker.

Kobe has never been as good as Duncan, nor will he ever be.
God almighty some spurs fans are ing stupid.

Give Lebron some role players like Parker, Ginobili, and an HOF coach at his disposal. I guarantee he AT LEAST three-peats.
