Look at this game another way:
Let's say the mavs played the same way for the first 22 minutes against a good team. Do you think they would have been able to come back from 29?
no. Which means out of this win, the only thing I would say is that Dallas is better than the timbers and thunder of the league, but not even close to hang in with the big boys.
Time's up. You lose.
This game wasn't a big deal, but it was a really sick come-back..everyone has to admit that.
if only for the fact that if I'm not a liar, and I'd give somebody 500 dollars if I said I would.

Hey Stretch most level headed fans are still here, happy about the win but not a throwing a party or anything. Mono for some reason enjoys trashing the team all the time now. We know they aren't winning anything right now, but it's hard to consider yourself a fan of the team and still get exited about nothing good they do.
I don't think anyone here was saying that the Mavs can play that way against a good team and expect to pull it out. All I've seen is that people have said that it was a of a win, considering the horrible start. Even many elite teams cannot pull off wins like this, so there is no question that it is a special win. But it also shows the Mavs have much more to work on. I didn't really see a lot of people getting too excited about this win. Even dubmcdub said that it was a pathetic 1st half against a pathetic team. All he really was stating is that it was a win nonetheless, which it was. Wins are always a good thing. But I never saw him saying anything about the Mavs suddenly running out and winning a championship or anything.

Yeah, I wish you guys would post more often. I almost never post about the Mavs anymore because its so full of the knee-jerk fans and bashers. It's impossible to have any kind of actual discussion without someone coming in and ruining it with some sort of ridiculous crap.
Yeah, I just don't see the point in being a fan of a team if all the person wants to do is bash on them and be ridiculously negative. Even if its joking, the constant negativity can be very annoying. It's one thing to be "realistic" as some people claim they are. But some people go too far, and are being negative, and nothing more.
I guess people want to hear how awesome the mavs are after coming back from 29. , I bet some of them even think along the lines of"hey, if we come back from 29 down, we are contenders!!??!!".
This is a flawed way of looking at it. You can't just take the bad and disregard the good. We outscored the Twolves by 36 points in a 22 minute span, and we were outscored by 29 in a 26 minute span. The latter is awful, but the former is AMAZING, regardless of compe ion. If you take that 22 over 48, we beat the Twolves by 75. WOuld beating the Twolves by 75 be disregarded just becuase they're a bad team? No.
So what to make of this game? Not much other than it was entertaining but it was a game of extreme runs, flukes, and anomalies. You can't say it means we're "nowhere" near the big boys (but if you mean Cleveland, LA, and Boston, I agree with you... but we knew that BEFORE this game, it isn't newly acquired knowledge).

Maybe it's because I'm not being negative at all. More than likely it's because I'm a lot more optimistic about this team than any of you are, which means I'm more disappointed when I see them not playing to the potential that I know is in them.

If I'm ridiculously negative and do nothing but knee-jerk, then logic states I would have predicted a 50 point loss and asked for a Dirk beheading.
