    Hill was very good tonight.

I'd like to see more Hill drives than Manu jumpshots. Hill needs to stop passing it off ALL the time to Manu.

    Final: Spurs 91, Heat 84

The Spurs led most of the game and went in front for good with more than nine minutes left but still had to work hard in the fourth quarter of a 91-84 road victory over the Miami Heat.

The Spurs' defense came through at the end, allowing the Heat only one field goal made in the last four minutes of the game.

Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 19 points and nine rebounds. George Hill had 15 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

    FOURTH QUARTER

Manu Ginobili blocked a Dwyane Wade shot on a Heat fast break. Roger Mason Jr. hit a jumper at the other end and the Spurs lead 86-81 with 1:25 left.

Tony Parker had been quiet offensively but his basket down the stretch has the Spurs leading 84-81 with less than three minutes left.

Dwyane Wade had eight points in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter. The Spurs lead 78-75 midway through the period.

George Hill and Roger Mason Jr. scored the Spurs' first 10 point of the fourth quarter. Hill later had an assist on a Bruce Bowen 3-pointer that put the Spurs up 77-72.

George Hill had a big 3-pointer late in the third quarter when the Spurs needed some momentum. He has six points early in the fourth quarter and the Spurs lead 71-68.

    THIRD QUARTER

Matt Bonner's 3-pointer and Manu Ginobili's driving basket gave the Spurs the last five points of the third quarter. They lead 65-60.

The Heat went on a 7-0 run to go in front 56-55 and take their first lead late in the third quarter. George Hill hit a 3-pointer to put the Spurs back in front.

The stars are taking over. Tim Duncan has the Spurs' last five points. Dwyane Wade has the Heat's last two baskets. The Spurs lead 49-47.

The Spurs turned the ball over twice in the first minute of the third quarter. It was a rocky start for the Spurs, who struggled to score late in the first half.

    SECOND QUARTER

The Spurs made only one field goal in the last five minutes of the second quarter and went to halftime tied 39-39.

Bruce Bowen saw action in both of the first two quarters and shared the defensive assignment on Dwyane Wade, who was 4 of 11 from the field and had 10 points.

Tim Duncan just made a pair of free throws. He is up to 10 points and the Spurs lead 36-32.

Ime Udoka added a 3-pointer to his earlier basket. That was Udoka's first 3-pointer made since Dec. 18. The Spurs lead 34-32.

Michael Finley and Ime Udoka made their first baskets of the game for the Spurs' last four points. The Spurs lead 30-25.

The Heat are on a 9-0 run that carried over from the first quarter. The Spurs lead 21-20 and Gregg Popovich took a timeout.

    FIRST QUARTER

Manu Ginobili replaced Michael Finley with 6:10 left in the first quarter. Ginobili's first basket gave the Spurs a 19-11 lead.

The Heat are aggressively going after offensive rebounds early and extending their possessions.

Roger Mason Jr. and Matt Bonner each hit a 3-pointer as the Spurs took a 13-7 lead.

Mason and Michael Finley turn turns playing defense on the Heat's Dwyane Wade early, and Bonner helped out with double-teams.

You saying Parker had a better game than Wade?
Of course not but the FG% of TP is better than wade thats a fact. This is the positive thing to have a good team and cast when TP has an off day in FG% he is not obliged to take 26 shots to make 10.

Hill is a pretty good shooter too. I'd also like to see Hill get a few more looks at three.

By the way this game demonstrates that TP is not an stat obsseded player, he took only 9 shots in 31 min and he will be happy with the W despite his 8 points.

indeed 4-9 is a decent % (44.5 %), some NBA star average this on their career.
but i got your point and i loved that too. tony didn't have to force things tonight when he saw his shot wasn't falling easily. he had 7 assists, a decent FG % and a clutch layup.

Hill, Bonner and Mason playing well allowed him to not force things.

TP always did what Pop asked him to do. when everyone except Tim, usually, sucks in offense, he asks tony to shoot because he has to do. if tony is average on offense but some of his teamates step up, Pop and tony are surely happy to let them score.

I think it's easy to understand that no one in this team is obsessed by his own stats. anyway, Pop would never allow that.

I agree. I've never seen evidence that Tony is concerned about his line. I think he's bought into the Spurs' philosophy of team play, with Lord Tim Duncan setting the example.
