We have 9 since moving to LA.
They have won in every single decade (70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's)
Spurs have been around since the 80's and haven't won until they tanked to get Duncan.
Yeah but you have been in the NBA longer
Plus: 2000-2002 = Sternism
And a good portion of your les were won in Minneapolis anyway

Wake me up when the Spurs repeat...oh that's right, that'll be never.
The fact that the Spurs never repeated despite the NBA being severely watered down after the 3-peat Lakers were broken up is pathetic IMHO.
The Suns and Mavs were the only real compe ion in the WC.
Dude shut the up for a while.
All of your posts are so ing pathetic and lame.
The Celtics loss to the Warriors did much more to damage their psyche than the loss to the Lakers. Then when we beat them without Brandon Roy they were clearly ed.
Someday I'd like for the Cavaliers to be as pathetic as the Spurs...
Thanks!!! I think your team has a great chance to come out the east this year!

First of all, you didn't read my post. I wrote since the 2000's the Spurs and Lakers have a rivalry.
The Lakers have won three championships this decade and The Spurs have won three championships this decade. Hmmm....but don't let facts get in the way of a good purple-and-gold colored story!
Second, I don't mind having a debate with Lakers fans. I enjoyed it....but let's have a honest, spirited debate. I will challenge the Laker fans who keep putting their revisionist history on last year's WCF. Most of the people understood my earlier posts saying it was a close series...even though it lasted 5 games. It was due to the closeness of the scores and how tight the games were played.
But, I haven't call any Lakers fans names or cursed at them because they disagreed with my opinion. I have posted exchanges with DrHouse, Lakaluva, and other Lakers fans posters on ST and it's been fun and spirited. We haven't call each other names or curse at each other all.
Can you make your point without going there? Thank you very much!!!

Too bad Lakers are not returning to the Finals
didnt we take alot of yall though cuz yall seemed to have nothing in the celtics thats all that matters![]()
I am one of those guys who puts the millenium at January 1, 2001. Regardless of how other people mark it, I think most are in agreement that the 1999-2000 season belongs in the previous decade.
So, here are my stats for the fight for team of this decade:
Edges to Spurs:
3 les to 2
Better regular season record.
Made playoffs every year (Lakers missed one)
Edges to Lakers:
4 finals appearances
4-1 Head-to-head playoff mark.
I didn't factor in divison les because I am too lazy to look them up.
Decade isn't over and a decision now who is ahead is impossible. This debate would lead to 10 ridiculous pages of trash talk on SpursTalk.
Not to be decided until the 2009-10 season concludes! It's between the Lakers and Spurs for the le of team of the decade, but if Detroit can win a back-to-back, they jump into the discussion.

If Lakers win this season and next they will cement themselves as the team of the decade the way they did in the 1980's.
I like the sound of 5 les in the 80's, 5 in the 2000's. Has a nice symmetry to it.
The winningest franchise in all of basketball. Simply the best.
If the Spurs can win every le from 2010 to 2020, they will go down as the best decade team of all time.
Thanks, Lakaluva!
I don't believe you wrote that post I was responding to earlier.
I will agree that the Lakers and Celtics are the platinum standard for NBA Franchises. But, the Spurs have reached the gold standard since what has happened in the last 10 years.
Also, rivalry doesn't happen until both teams beat each other. (For example, I never felt the Yankees-Red Sox was a rivalry until Boston finally beat the Yankees in the playoffs and won a couple of World Series!!) The Spurs have done that against the Lakers. Yes, I know the Lakers have beaten the Spurs more....but the Spurs have drawn blood and the Lakers know they are there.
I'm looking forward to round 1 on Jan 14th and I know ST will blow-up depending on which team wins....especially the Spurs.
