My point exactly. Vy was a playmaker during the most clutch times. And before you start referencing his pro career which hasn't even been that bad for a rookie, and all of his "mental problems" which have been blown WAY out of proportion, there's no way you can deny that given the choice of VY or tebow from their junior season's, any sensible coach would pick VY to lead his team.
He's not a rookie. He got benched for an over-the-hill QB with a history of drinking problems. You're either 1) very dumb to think a coach would not have a tough decision in VY versus Tim Tebow or 2) you're doing this to rile people up. I sincerely hope it's the latter.

WTF? Chance Mock was a drunk and old? And to add something to the argument, I think the Tebow supporters are forgetting his most valuable asset, the ability to cir cise young boys. The OU re and Shasta have to be getting a stiffy over that one. Praise Tebow!!!

Tim Tebow is a gimmick QB in a gimmick offense. (His most notable predecessor under Meyer is Alex Smith.) Why is Tebow returning to Florida next season? Maybe it's because of his slow, slow, slow release and his inability to properly read defenses. Maybe it's because he'd be a second round pick this year, and wants to improve his status. Maybe it's because he knows he'll get clobbered by NFL defenses, and injured severely, if he doesn't improve his overall game.

Vince Young, on the other hand, is a stud. He's mobile, he has a quick release, and he's hugely clutch. His biggest weakness has been his mental anguish this year over God-knows-what. (I would gladly trade places with him.) But since leaving college, he's been drafted in the first round, gone to the Pro Bowl, led his team to the playoffs, and won the offensive rookie of the year. He'll be back next season.

I'm fairly confident that, five years from now, Vince Young will have a Super Bowl ring, a Super Bowl MVP, and several Pro Bowl appearances. Tim Tebow will be riding the pine for the Eagles, or something.

No thank you. Stupid Tebow > VY posts only require one reading and a good laugh.

Ok I'm not going to go as far and say VY will win a super bowl, I'm not that ignorant, but this is about college anyways

VY is just the leader that Tebow is. They are both very vocal and throw their arms up on the sideline. Did you see how loose Vince was before the biggest game of his career? No coach is going to take a 4 yard FB dive play over the ability to break a 60 yard run at any moment.

I may be wrong about Tebow, but I definitely believe Vince Young will win a Super Bowl, be a Super Bowl MVP, and go to several Pro Bowls. The ans are a really good team. Vince Young, when healthy, is a much better quarterback than Kerry Collins.

If the ans win the Super Bowl sometime in the next five years, you can pretty much expect that Vince Young will get the MVP. It's really not that far-fetched--heck, Eli Manning has won a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP award.

And I think Tebow will be pretty mediocre-to-bad as an NFL quarterback. Maybe he'll start for a ty team, but I think he'll be spending most of his time fishing and performing cir cisions.

Each players stats in bowl games as a full time starter.

    Vince Young

    46/68 68% 447 yards 1 TD 1 INT
    40 rushes for 392 yards(9.8 avg), 7 touchdowns, long of 60 in 04 and long of 45 in 05
VY 2-0, beat Michigan who was 9-2, also beat 12-0 and the "greatest team of all time" who was on a 34 game win streak playing at home in Cali.
    839 total yards, 8 touchdowns
The win against USC was impressive. Against a ty big ten team? No. Wonderful TD/INT ratio he has there.

    Tim Tebow

    35/63 55% 385 yards, 5 TD 2 INT
    38 rushes 166 yards(4.3 avg), 1 touchdown, longs of only 19 and 15
Tim Tebow LOST to the Michigan team that lost to Appalachian State(on the way to a 9-4 season) and then beat a 12-1 OU team whose spot in the game was debatable and was on a 7 game win streak.
    551 yards, 6 touchdowns.
What if you include when these guys weren't full time starters? Then what do the numbers look like? Also, what team should've been in the le game over OU? I'm guessing you're going to say Texas. That's the point where I laugh and point out Texas could barely get by Ohio State.

Uhm, Texas played a ty Michigan team that was 9-2 going into the game with losses to D1 teams. UF lost to a ty Michigan team that was 8-4 going into the game with a loss to APPALACHIAN STATE, and they lost

It was also Lloyd Carr's last game as head coach. If you think Michigan wasn't ready to beat anyone in that game then you're sorely mistaken. When you look at the actual game it was Florida's defense that lost it. Tebow was 17/33 for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns + 57 yards and 1 rushing touchdown. Harvin had 165 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. Florida's defense let the team down.

Ok. If you wanna go that route. The defense lost them that game.

But they won the game against OU stopping them inside the red zone TWICE

You don't watch the NFL much do you? Kerry Collins may be over the hill in age but judging from this season his ability was far from it. And I was talking about his rookie season because that is where a lot of the criticism comes from for no good reason.

THAT'S NOT EVEN A FAIR COMPARISON!!! Again, Tebow had chris leak playing in front of him his freshman year and if you're saying that having an all american playing in front of you doesn't take a HUGE load of pressure off of you then you're too naive to be arguing on this thread. VY was thrown into the fire his freshman year.

And he hasn't even gone pro yet! I can only imagine how his body is gonna hold up after his first season in the pros.
